I seem to have horrible luck with getting any of the good rewards shown on chests, whether it is ruby chests from Marco or purchased via cash.
In fact, I seem to have worse luck with the ones I buy with cash.
The current sale of chests which touts a chance of various buildings, like Ninja Dojo, Jannisary, Pirate Ship, etc. or some trade goods at the bottom.
I bought 2 of the $10 packs, which gives me 12 chests to open.
I ended up with a couple Power Plants, and the rest were all trade goods and merc contracts.
Not a single troop producing building after buying 2 of the large bundles.
I don't know if I have the worst luck ever, or if Nexon just sets the ratios on these chests rewards to be ridiculously low.
Personally, I'm done with ever buying anything that isn't an exact purchase. No more lottery based items for me.
They need to post the odds of winning each item, or else it feels too risky too me.
So, what is your experience with the chests been like?

Don't do it, it is a ripoff, unless BHG explicitly put message out that users are getting the premium troop producing buildings for that 2 dollar per chest purchasing price instead of junk trade goods which were never worth anything in real currency, i will never spend any $$$ to buy their chest.

I don't get this, all these are digital content which cost BHG nothing. if they want user to put real $$$$$$$$, then put the solid stuff out. i don't get why they want to keep playing this game, cheat user's $$$ for junks.

I've bought about 20 chests with both real money and crowns. Never once did I get one of the highest tier prizes. I will no longer be purchasing these chests until they improve the odds, or at least disclose what the odds actually are.

Very much a scam gambling box with the percentage going to the house. Anywhere else and they would be fined for fraud. You pay real money and get a very low level item. A real rip-off. Only get stuff you know you will receive. Trade goods ..your having a laugh ..you get those for free watching a free movie advert. An insult..

What a scam. I bought one got 1 pirates camps and 5 trade goods. Send the message to customer service, they said it’s a game of chance. Tough luck.

Here’s thing they advertise the building on the top page and the front page didn’t even show the trade goods or contracts, so don’t tell me about chance. 5 out of 8 items available are building of some sort. What’s your formula for the chance. Good luck getting me to look at another offer. I’ll say it again. What a scam. Shame on you Nexon.

I’m pretty sure since real money is involved, they need to disclose the formula and odds for each. I requested so let see how they say.

They aren't obligated to show odds.
In China they are, which is why you don't see chests in the Asian version of the game.

if they don't post odds, what's the point of spending real money? fool me once, shame on you, but fool me twice shame on me.maybe they can trick some people into buying the chest once but why would anyone buy more if they only get crap in the chest after spending real money? a good business does not trick anyone into spending money once, but give good deals to foster a long term relationship where people are happy to keep spending more and more money over the long term.

The odds for a big prize seems to be about 1/20 or 5%. So in a purchase of 10 chests, you have a 60% probability of getting zero big prizes. That's bad odds for spending a good chunk of real money, and the stuff you do get (mercenaries and some crappy trade goods) is almost completely worthless in the grand scheme of things.

The odds need to be much better. It needs to be at least 20% chance, so that you have a 90% chance of getting something in 10 chests. The payout rate needs to be at least large enough so players keep interested. It's pretty obvious from the forums and my personal experience that players do not feel it's remotely worth the chance. Improving the odds will likely bring in more revenue.

It does seem grossly unfair that the chest rewards are not much different to the leage or battle chest rewards. These exclusive offers or premier rewards should be ''elitist''.
They should be things we wouldn't normally get with normal play. THAT would make them exclusive or premier gifts.
I can get shieldmaidens with my rewards or dock, I'd much rather get a Long House in these offers.

It does seem odd that Nexon has chosen to set the % chance for getting the best stuff so low - it is all digital content to them so it costs them nothing extra to give out good stuff over the bad.

If nothing else I think they should break up the content of the chests into several tiers and at least guarantee you’ll get X amount of each tier - almost like buying old collector/trading cards. Those foil packets of cards at least guaranteed you’d get one ‘rare/premium’ card, serveral ‘uncommon/ok’ cards and a bunch of ‘common/run of the mill’ cards.

I suspect more people would buy those chest if they knew they’d get something decent, even if they didn’t know exactly what that something might be...

Never purchase anything that is not a specific purchase of an item. There are plenty in game rewards and quests where extra troops and troop producing buildings can be won. Why would you spend real money on something that can be gained through a little effort in game?
