How-To : Lazy Instant Retrain

This is the trick only for those who don't know and/or those who haven't successfully made the Instant Retrain more effective.
Some conditions apply, depends on your game style.

​​​​​​Ok so the case is we usually lose the whole troops after World War battles. And we need to do multiplayer battles very soon after it.
Mercenary and air troops are the most expensive items we need to retrain (Factory troops as well ; but luckily I don't need to use factory troops in multiplayer battles).
I personally do regular looting after war is over; so this is what I do :

1. Train my regular mp troops (whole is barrack troops, I'm French so it's a tiny piece of cake to fast retrain )
2. I don't retrain war tactics cause luckily I don't need any (usually, not always)
3. I don't retrain planes cause again luckily, I don't really need planes in mp battles.
4. I don't retrain mercenary one by one (my mercs are Tank Destroyers; I have no problem with diamonds, but ciders are a bit rare especially when you don't have free citizens to gather from the trees! )
So why?


Video ads for instant retrain are available +/- every 9 hours, depends on your last free retrain and your region.
I wait until the videos are available again.
And voila! Oil and trade goods saved!

This thing will work pretty good for those who still regularly use barrack troops.
For factory troops users, especially whole-HT users, it might not be too beneficial if you have lost your army in a tough battle. And usually you will always need your planes to back them up. You save your trade goods for mercenary though.

Note : if you train even just a single item, either from Barracks, Factory, Mercenary Camp, Airstrip and War Academy, you will lose the chance to freely retrain the rest items you have used previously.

Not sure if this is true - I regularly train mercenary camp troops separately and then use retrain to get the rest of my army back

Yeah it's true lol what I was saying, ie. we used 2 flammpanzers and 1 gurkhas, lost them in previous attack, and we decide to train single mercs ie. new flammpanzer, we won't get the rest flammpanzer and gurkhas anymore when the free retrain is ready

Also as I said, depends on everyone's game style
I personally use barrack troops in MP, not a single factory troops, sometimes without planes, so I just train my troops, not more than 10 minutes they're all set! Being French nation though
In the 10 minutes meantime, we chat in alliance
My workers are always busy, I don't have estate either Angkor Wat, so most of the time ciders are rare thing for me, I prefer to only retrain mercs from the video retrain.

I'm guessing you are using massive factory troops?

By lazy retrain I thought you meant just have someone else log in and push the instant retrain and wait for the video because you can’t be bothered by it. Or maybe do it while laying down on the floor and sighing the whole time because it’s so exhausting to do.

I only use the instant for war and always for first attack. I think after enough attacks you can determine your loss. I always attack the harder base first and yeah depending on trade good numbers you can train them first than use instant. I’m not worried about rss so much as the time needed especially tactics since that can be hours. Even using blessing, 7 tactics can take an hour and a half.

Yeah I only use instant retrain mostly for wars, but always twice avoiding to retrain mercenary one by one cause 24 ciders per attacks are some kind of pricey

And even if I lose planes in mp, I don't retrain them. I wait until retrain is available again Playing in silver league really doesn't always require planes.
As for tactics, I can retrain one by one since even though they take time, still faster than waiting for the free retrain depends on the time, I check it first when it will be available again.

That is my lazy and cheap version of instant retrain
