Huge melee cav attack increase?

I could swear my Knights' attack used to be much lower, perhaps 60-90? Now it's listed at 220. Five took down a castle in what seemed like 2 or 3 seconds, whereas before they would have hacked on it for a good while. 2 can take out pretty much any standard defensive structure in short order. Seems like a huge balance change to leave out of patch notes, so I'm wondering if this was intentional or not. Or maybe it was always like that and I was confusing them with mercs? Please comment.

Horseman used to have 40 dps now after the update it's 160. If I'm not mistaken, all cavalry troop damaged is increased by 4 times.

This is not mentioned in the patch notes at all.

Yep, they are now one of the best units in the game.

I think it's because it will be replaced by a tank in the industrial age, which must have a huge dps... So they increased the one of the Cavs so that there will be some kind of logic..

That's a good thought. Man, I already used 6 cav and I thought they were balanced fine. Though so far, the huge attack output hasn't affected balance as much as i might have guessed. You still need them in relatively large groups to keep them from dying too fast (luckily ai never seems to focus fire on the weakest), and you still need archers to take care of infantry. But now you don't necessarily need to bumrush a ballista tower with six of them, 2 or 3 can often do the job (and perhaps take a loss).
