I don't see why buffing the unused tactics would unbalance the game

In my opinion from playing this game for almost two years; barrage, first aid, and demolition haven't been relevant in the game's meta for anyone outside of classical age. All of these tactics would be better off with a buff to make them actually worthwhile.

Barrage: this should be able to replace the attack run of a fighter plane. Maxed out in atomic, this tactic should be able to take out any defender (including heavy tanks or maybe not quite) as well as give the defensive building suppresion effect. Would allow the same effect without risking your fighters in a risky location.

First aid: should be able to replace taking supply trucks in an army whether by duration or healing speed, especially since it has a static location unlike supply trucks which will follow your army. Maybe even make the tactic spawn ghost trucks that are unkillable and follow for the duration. This would be cool as you could then take extra offensive troops.

Demolition: maxed in atomic without uni should be able to destroy an atomic mortar without uni. Likewise demolition with uni should still beat mortar with uni. Could also add a suppresion effect to adjacent buildings too.

In short these would be positive changes that I feel many players would welcome. Let me know your thoughts :)

they said the attack already much more powerful than defense in later ages. So buffing tactics didn't fix that problem. Give them faster training also didn't fix that.
And no it is not because we prioritize attacks. We do it but we spend much much more time on defense, and some base already reach near max in defense and still cannot hold off attack.

5 stars and 100% should be a rare to distinguish between good and average attack. Perhaps give us a chance to return troop earlier in MP or reduce training time.

Some great suggestions here!
Buffing up the unused tactics should have been the best way forward.

When I was playing the game actively, I was using demolition until they introduced the university. University upgrades to mortars nearly rendered the demolition tactic unusable.
Revisiting the buff numbers at the university (under Suleiman) will make demolition more usable.

Also, it might help to revisit the "Battle Tactics" chapters at the library. Chapter 1 increases the duration of tactics by 20%, but, chapter 2 increases the damage and healing of tactics by only 10%. Increasing the chapter 2 buff will help towards balancing barrage, demolition, and first aid.

Another option would be to introduce university researches for barrage and first aid at the university under a new leader. Keeping it closer to Hiawatha and Mansa Musa will enable these researches to be completed easily.

There are plenty of ways to make the other tactics viable. The player community can help with suggestions.

Completely off topic but game balancing change for sure. Stronghold releases troops when destroyed!! Completely balancing the game towards P2W!

I'm by no means in a top tier team so I've never actually seen a troop tactic on defence luckily, but I can definitely see the frustration for those who do.

I guess they thought they'd preemptively remove the need to waste a sabotage on it lol
