I think it's time for a Medal system change once and for all.

The insane imbalance of the medal system has gotten ridiculous at this point. You should not be losing 20 medals for a castle snipe that only damages 5% of your base. After a lot of debate I think most of will agree that a 1:1 medal to star system would fix all our problems. This would reward players who go for a 5 star win with 5 well deserved medals. While at the same time it would limit the castle snipers to the 1 medal that they deserve. If they changed the system to something this simple I can hardly see anyone complaining about the fairness of medal exchanges.

We have a consensus here Madfury, medal system is broken as never before, but mods and devs pretend to ignore it asking us about timed goals...

There could be different ways of fixing this. I think minimum of medals you earn should depend on stars. 1-5 or even some extra for 4-5th star. The same with league reward. And loosing medals should be at least twice less for the beginning.

I disagree with everyone. Because close app exists bhg saw that players were not losing any medals on attack. People just werent losing battles and medals on attack. The player base was soaring to max medals leagues. So they decided to take back those medals with higher defense losses. When close app is fixed theyll be able to rebalance medal rewards losses

The problem is that people "need" to get paid. They should have sorted this out PRE RELEASE. It's too late for that now, I know. Shut this sh*t down, for an extended maintence period, and fix the game! It shouldn't take me an hour to make up the medals lost from one attack.

..."But what will we ever do about the timed rewards?!"... I know, I know.

I am wondering if CoC has similar bug or how they deal with it. I dont think we should justify this exploit with hi medal losses or bhg thought this way. In such case they should make retreat button available for everyone or deliver partial fix, it's been there from March

seems to me the exploit could easily be fixed if the game only gave you the resources looted in battle when the battle report is issued. as it is now when using a raider army, there is no incentive to stay in game and wait for the report, you already have the resources, and the only thing that happens if you wait for the report is that you'll lose medals.

Oh no.. Can't believe it... I agree with Dbukalski.. :) (more or less).... If you are a regular player you easily do 10-20 attacks in one day, you can be attacked and loose max twice (unless you keep breaking your PT). Loosing a battle then should cost, especially if you use the "exposed TC" tactic. TC is your HQ. In war, if the enemy takes your HQ, you usually loose the battle.

This is also why I like the One star Victory by taking the TC. It is more "real".

I posted something proposing the same idea earlier. It also promotes multiple different army types rather than every player just using wall miners and raiders to snipe the Town Center.

I dont believe that the developers designed the game to be only played with one type of army for every player. I'm sure that their is a reason for special troops being different for every nation, of course I could be wrong.

However the defensive losses not just the attacking losses should also be taken into account. When players are loosing 35 medals on defense and only gaining 1 on offense that is a reason for players to quit. I do not think that dbulkaski statement that because of the bug with force quiting that the medal system shouldnt be rebalanced. Each aspect should be treated individually and just because one problem hasnt been fixed that you ignore another problem.

with the unit nerfing they've done so far, it seem like it was their plan to make everyone play with the same kind of army. I'm pretty sure i even saw a thread in which a nexon representative said that the players were play the game in a way they didn't like, and that's why they did certain rebalance.

I think they dont like it even more at high medals now ))) so change will come. I just hope they won't slow down loot speed, but will do attacking buffs finally.

I think the current medal system is fine. If you don't want to compete at the top level then just don't.

I agree that the medal system needs serious work.

Personally, I don't see the advantage of awarding large numbers of medals to high level bottom feeders for defeating people 50-60 levels lower.

I like madfury's 1:1 system, but the total award should also be adjusted based on difference in level.

My argument is that it makes sense to incentivize both 5 star victories and attacking stronger opponents.

On a related note, the matching system is broken.

On offense, 95+% of the time, I am matched with opponent who would earn me 1 medal for a 5 star victory.

On defense, 50+% of the time, I lose 10-13 medals for a 2 star loss (5-6 for 1 star).

Since my tc is outside my walls, often the first person to see it attacks, and I have the loss 3 minutes after logging off.

Therefore, the system, for some reason, is consistently matching me with opponents with a far lower medal count. I've confirmed this by checking opponents medal counts. My current count is about 2150, so there are many opponents in higher leagues. I don't get it.

Okay, if you closappers wanted an excuse, it should not be high medal losses but double attacks or attack through peace treaty. I just had it yesterday and lost 28 medals, both attacks were 5 tactics plus BG feature which may be used non stop by cheaters/money players. this bug/cheat kinda makes closeapp exploit reasonable responce imo.

Sounds identical to my observations @1850 medals with the added bonus that practically every base I attack has diamonds but only get one in ten, but folk who attack me practically always walk off with 1-3

Redgar, I'm not sure I understand. Are you talking about cheaters who attack through treaties? I lost 50 medals the other day while on treaties. Cs, after many, many back and forths, gave me 300 crowns ($3.00). I told them it was two days of work, and $3.00 was a slap in the face.

Well, I haven't buy a PT, but I was attacked twice yea in an hour and lost 28 medals. It may be a bug tho.
