Instant retrain doesn't work

Hi,
My instant retrain works only half of the times. There are times that the add starts, but doesn't run, and instant retrain doesn't work.
I try to reload the game and do it again, without luck.
I even retrained my mercs and tried again, again without luck.

Did it happen to anyone? Any tips? maybe I do it wrong?

It already cost me one war attack, and my team almost lost a war because of it.
Please help - what is the secret?

Occasionally the ad engine crashes on me, leaving me stuck at a blank screen. Usually I can then force close the game (android) and relaunch, and still have the instant retrain option, but occasionally it doesn't.

So I try not to count on it too heavily, and still do my first war attack early in the war, in case I will need the time to retrain troops for the second attack.

Happens to me about half the time too. Have to keep closing and reopening the app until it works.

opened a ticket at CS about the same issue and their response is that their servers are too loaded and we need to be patient.
Ok I will do that. But how did they decide to drop a whole continent to their add servers if the servers are not prepared for the increased network load?
