Hello. I have been playing DomiNations for a few months. I visit the forums often and I am very active in the Facebook community (Member DomiNations, DomiNations International, Founder/Admin DomiNations USA). My name there is Rob McWrite, I may know some of you from that platform. My last post seems to be popular "Issue with Bluestacks" and I thank everyone for their input.

But now I think I am going to have to QUIT playing DomiNations. Don't get me wrong, its not all Nexon's fault, I must carry the burden of some responsibility as a consumer for not researching the game specs before purchasing a new device.

Earlier this evening, I went out a purchased a brand new ASUS Transformer Pad (Intel Celeron Processor, Intel HD Graphics, 4GB DDR3 L Memory, 500GB HDD, 16GB EMMC). Its actually pretty nice and I really like it so far. But when I tried to download the game it tells me that my device is not compatable with the game. I did seek some advice from Facebook and the general consensus there was that it has to do with the Intel Processor. Is this true? Is there anything I do that doesnt violate TOS to get back to playing the game? I am a leader of three alliances, kinda feel like im letting everyone down.

Will DomiNations EVER be compatible with my device?

...and disabling the emulators was perfect timing nexon now that i cant even play on my mobile device.

If the game will not ever be compatible can you give me any input as to when you will actually fix the emulations issues and let us play on bluestacks again?

Anyway for an official reply to this post?

I also can't play due to it not working on bluestacks and I've also quit. To request a refund on any crowns purchases recently you'll have to go through the android app story customer service.

Have you tried contacting Bluestacks for support?

As far as the tablet issue, I will look into it. The supported devices are configured in the Google Play store; I will see if I can get that list published. *makes herself a reminder*

For emulators, though, it's slightly tougher. DomiNations is built with Unity and other third party tools. These tools may not always work correctly with Bluestacks. If there is an issue with a game, we highly suggest contacting Bluestacks support. In many cases they can assist with these types of issues. No matter how good an emulator is, it's still software emulating hardware - sometimes imperfectly :( We didn't do anything explicitly/intentionally.

Hey. Honestly I HATE using an emulator, which is why I went out and got a decent tablet. My own fault for not researching if the game was compatible with what I was buying. I really appreciate your time and insight. One wuick question though, well really just seeking some clarity...are you saying that the compatability issue may be an easy fix and that you can get the ballrolling on maybe fixing it for me? Do you need anymore info about my device?

No matter how good an emulator is, it's still software emulating hardware - sometimes imperfectly :( We didn't do anything explicitly/intentionally.

There are a couple of problems with the above. Firstly, emulators such as Bluestacks and others are not emulating hardware, they are emulating software. It isn't like Android devices are built with super-secret CPUs, that would be prohibitively expensive. They use standard Intel hardware.

Secondly, the implied claim that the problems with emulators and mobile platforms are separate issues is inaccurate. They are both running Android OSs, and clearly the Dominations update has caused problems with both. Both were running fine, before the last update of Dominations, and Bluestacks, at least, hasn't issued an upgrade at the same time, that I know of. Therefore the problem isn't one that emulator providers need to deal with. The problem is in the update software.

And finally, customers do not need DomiNations. The publishers, however, need customers. So, if you wish to tell a good-sized chunk of yo9ur customers to buzz off, have at. We will not be the poorer, for such poor customer service.

I bid you a very good day, and the sort of luck you deserve, depending on your decisions.

I read some of your posts on FB. Anyway, at some point, IGG's Castle Clash also had Bluestacks issues after one of their updates but it was remedied. They know they have paying players using emulators. If Supercell and IGG can fix that, BHG/Nexom should also be also to.

I wish bhg/nexon were on the same level as supercell/igg but as you can see wtih the hacking problem, they are obviously not. And I thing bhg intentionally build something in the apk to block emulators because they are overwhelmed with the hacking issue and are not capable of fixing it properly.

I'll have to figure out from the team why it's excluded, and depending on the problem, whether we can fix it. I should be able to get information for you some time this week.

I think you're giv9ing BHG and Nexon more credit than is due. The issue encompasses some phones/tablets, as well as emulators. Now, if they fix the one without fixing the other, I"ll be willing to believe that they are targeting emulators. To paraphrase something attributed to Napoleon, 'Never attribute to0 malice or conspiracy 6that which can be adequately explained by stupidity and incompetence".

Which is not to say I'm going that far, but a mistake is more ;likely than actively cutting off some of their paying emulator users.

It's about time you started taking this seriously, I see a lot of people here and on FaceBook complaining about it not working on Bluestacks and some Intel devices.

You'd think your development team would have tested the update on popular emulators like Bluestacks, would have only taken 5 mins of testing to realize a problem and avoid a support headache!

Might not help all, but the update works on the emulator Droid4x for some (me for example).
