Progress set backwards

So as of not playing the game after forgetting for a few months I came back today to start playing again, only to when I log in, see that much of my base has been reset back to what it was around a year or two ago when I was in the gunpowder age, but it still says I’m in the Industrial Age, so I am stuck with gunpowder age units versus industrial age or global age units. I have no idea what could have caused this, please help I guess?
