Is Defense inherently weaker than Offense?

All things being equal, ages, levels, blessings, troop size, wonder powers etc...is defense in this game inherently weaker than offense?

And if that is true, then this game's most challenging strategy would be building a raid-proof base.

Raiding isn't as challenging because of the inherent bias in the game.

The game are a lot better made for active offensive players yes :)

And I hope it stays that way :)

Why should they give the inactive players an advantage? :)

Defense may even have unhealthy advantage in GP, while I think it's just fine in EA, with the only correction of AI. (The most disturbing for me are the ones: freezing and that they keep digging the wall when targeted building is already destroyed). So EA max attack army without buffs vs smart max defense can bring you a medal in rush or partial loot. Fully buffed army can bring you 5 stars, but still you have to play smart. I don't think defense needs buff. I'd say the last HC and healer upgrades may need a buff, as well as Gatling may need +1 range?

Remember that part of the fun of games like these is using a strategic design for your base that is "raid proof" but because the offense is so strong, it really doesn't matter how well your base is designed, even players that are 10-20 levels below you can still take it down.

As an offensive player, there is no place I cannot destroy. I get 100% destruction 90% of the time. If I don't get 100%, then it was because I made a dumb mistake and touched the screen and it did something that I did not intend.

Offensive play is boring now.

On the other hand, defensive play can be very challenging because offense is biased to be stronger.

In a well balanced game, both defense and offense should be pretty equal. Otherwise, one side gets boring and the other side gets frustrating.

I dunno, I think by the time players get to EA, your offense has a pretty strong advantage with troops like:
  • Cannon
  • Heavy Gatling Gun
  • Saboteur
Saboteur is probably does the most damage of the three since he can slip through walls and gates. Also, his bombs are lethal and take out most (maxed out) defensive buildings in one shot.

You could max out Generals and use them for defense but General AI is really stupid.

Just stop spending crows. Get some challenge! ;) try destroying smart max wall bases with unbuffed army, like we do.

It's pretty easy to get 100% on the majority of bases. If you're talking about 5 stars, then that's a different story. I usually only get 4 stars.
