Is this match up and Glory loss fair?

My clan Our Home are in a match up (35 ) with a very active opponent with the following ages (Our home 1st)

Atomic 0 - 1
Global 0 - 1
Industrial 0 - 5
Enlight 1 - 8
Gunp 8 - 5
Med 13 - 9
Class 10 - 5
Iron 3 - 1

And for losing this war we will lose 876 glory !

Is that the way it is supposed to work ?

Glory win/loss is only based on existing glory between the teams, and almost nothing to do with the team strength (with a few minor exceptions). That said, that's a pretty unfair matchup, but the ages don't tell the whole story.

Keep fighting Our Home And yes, you are right Quovatis But this one looks pretty lopsided to be honest even taking into account the rushed accounts. If war matches is indeed based on off/def, it might be they are hugely rushed bases that you guys should be able to take out.

Unbelievably the new match up we have now is way harder than the one that is the subject of this post...guess we will just sit it out and try again Looks like recent changes are hurting us. The opponents bases are strong for their ages also

This is a new clan matched with a clan that been around for years. I think they have 10 x the XP we have

Also, medals do not count to match in wars...

I bet there are problems in finding a match for a team that has 30 iron/classical/medieval. Maybe try posting the levels, they are usually a better comparison btw. If they are truly active players, you'll also be out of those super early ages within a week or so, hopefully that will help!

To provide a counterpoint, 7 of our last 8 wars have been against teams with no sandbags. Im not sure if its just incredible luck, or the changes they've made have worked, but this is the first time in probably 11 months this has happened. Some of the matches have been super difficult against top teams, maybe the matchmaking range has expanded some, but thats fine with us.
