Let's cut to the chase, shall we? Infantry: the supposed damage dealers die faster than Europeans during the beubonic plague. They also have more counters to them than any other unit, so using them in a frontal invasion is like climbing a mountain that gets continuously steeper. It only gets worse the furthor you get! Ranged infantry: more rebellious than a three year old tasked with eating they're vegetables. Here's the general scenario: Me: I placed you down so you would kill the defenders! Their slaughtering your comrades! Ranged units: we know, they're just happens to be a particularly menacing farm over there. Heavy cavalry. Muck around finding the safest route to their destination, taking them away from the units that require protecting... And ALWAYS turn around to face the defender that poked them with a toothpick in the arse.

Yea, I wrote some break down of key unit types in nation's unique rankings in less artistic style, tho. I don't know how they check attack/defense balance, sniping vs 5-star attacks efficiency, based on ages, defense strength, etc what 'ankors' they use for balance and if use them at all or just looking on data combined with some in-house play tests, but I'd say that combat at higher ages is at pathetic state currently. The number of features I am using is less than in GP lol.

Both hilariously correct and sadly true (*weeping*). Ranged troops are the weakest link atm, followed by HC patting at walls with their hands... Which leads us back to horribly nerfed Wall Sappers..

I'm simply wating till all units attack value's reach 1 and range is completely eliminated. And then see what else they nerf.

Lol :) thats simple. Defense will do 1 damage. And so u deploy your army and they slap the wall while the mortar fans them so they dont overheat. If ur lucky after 3 minutes they manage to take down one farm

OP is sad, funny as hell, and true.

The melee footman is so useless right now. Unless you're Roman/Japanese/German, they are just meat shields that get nearly one-hitted by almost all defensive structures. They must be buffed just a little bit so they dont die like flies. The long range infantry should have their AI rolled back to the pre-update scripts. Cavalry must have their attack power augmented again (but not to the point of being OP again), because right now if you attack a same-age base with a semi-decent compartmented design they will get slaughtered with little fighting chance. And (archers aside) overall AI of attacking troops must stop this idiotic routine of stopping their attack on defensive buildings and turn on defenders.

Im actually wondering if the brittish Archers are that useful they died way to fast when they attacked me when i still played, their supposed to be special but with the defensive towers getting a longer range hardly makes the brittish archers special anymore. They die to fast and they do little damage and rest of their units are crap. Thats balance for ya ;D.

If im not mistaken by industrial age their range is long enough to stay out of redoubt range which is pretty important

They always stood out of redoubt range, british uniques stay at 5 range in industrial. The damage boost is practically 1 age above basically the non-unique archer, making royal yeomanry practically a rifleman with increased range.

British long range units are pretty freaking strong when used in mass. Even in Industrial Age.
