Hello Leaders!
It’s been a very rainy spring in Baltimore thus far, but we are looking forward to some summer weather and sizzlin’ new releases over the next few months! The most exciting news is the release of the 4.1 update, which introduces the new Embassy building, War Coalitions, and eight new national trade goods. The new trade goods are earned by defeating specific nations in battle; for example, you can earn tea after defeating the Chinese or marble after defeating the Romans. At the Embassy, you’ll exchange those trade goods to form powerful War Coalitions with great nations, like the Aztecs, to bolster your attacks and defenses during World Wars.
We’ve also added several new upgrades for the Global Age. The most exciting is a second Factory, with which you’ll be able to build the new level 2 Heavy Bazooka. That troop has also been rebalanced in 4.1. Our original stats allowed Bazooka-only armies to be much more effective than we had intended, so they are receiving a higher damage bonus against tanks, buildings, and walls, with a slight decrease in base damage. Pound-for-pound, the Bazooka should still be as effective as it was when used against its intended targets, but armies solely consisting of Bazookas will be less effective. We also gave Mortars and Guard Mortars longer range, which should make them significantly more useful.
There are numerous bug fixes and small feature improvements that also went into this release. My personal favorite for this release is that the game now remembers your troop request notes when you post asking for troop donations. I was certainly tired of re-typing the same thing for every request. However, the best 4.1 feature is probably the update to the Battle Refactor System that was introduced in 4.0, which should go a long way towards eliminating mismatches with battle results. If you’re interested in reading more about this refactor, Seraphine goes into the weeds about it in this forum post.
We also have a full slate of new Events coming up this month, continuing to add exciting challenges in return for awesome rewards! I’m most excited for the event that will conclusively answer the age-old question: Pirates or Ninjas?
One feature that we have been continually working on, and are excited to roll out to players, is World War Replays. Over the next few weeks, we will be testing a fix behind the scenes to validate that we have caught all the edge cases and hope to have World War replays turned on in the near future. I’m definitely excited to see how my War Base crushes attacking forces!
Thank you for all your ongoing support and passion for DomiNations!
