First off cards on the table, I play as the British, that said...
I see a lot of calls on the forum to downgrade the Brits ranged infantry, now for me this is not a sensible solution to the perceived problems.
This would only achieve one thing, make all the nations more similar.
Now this may mean more players choosing to play as different nations, thus increasing the availability of different national trade goods. Which is one issue.
However the other issue, one I think is more important to the majority of players is the limited game play having one perceived over powerful nation causes. This perception causes the majority of attacks to follow the same format and therefore the majority of defences to be set up to counter this. Making all the nations more alike would if anything decrease the diversity even more.
What needs to be done, in my opinion is buff the other nations bonuses, give more options, not less. Make other strategies for attackers appealing. This will freshen up the game. Let's not make all nations the same, make them truly different with increased power to thier various unique units. This would attract players and increase the range of nations played and hence trade goods avaliable.
