I had a idea about a new wartactic that might be useful yet not overpowering.
”as you travel through the ages, you start to notice that some wartactics become more or less obsolete (barrage, demolition etc) and are overlooked because there are better options to go with as you progress. After countless hours in this game ive noticed that theres a gap in terms of tactics that needs to be filled but i havent really figured out what it could possibly be... until now, ladies and gentlemen may i introduce you to deadlock!”
Info about the tactic:
Deadlock is a wartactic that allows you to disable gates for a period of time, it could be singletarget (only affecting one gate for a long period of time) or a area of effect ability like sattellite scan but affects all gates in the area (for a shorter amount of time). I belive that deadlock could be gamechangeing and very intresting if utilized correctly, for example when you want to lure out enemy defenders but need them to march towards a certain point, deadlock will give you the option to manipulate enemy defenders. This tactic would imo give more depth and complexity to the offensive aspect of the game and more sence of control over your enemy instead of just relying on decoys.
Examples of deadlock use:
Imagine youre attacking a target with commandos and you see that the Rocket arsenal has spawned Rpgs and theyre marching towards your commando, what do you do? Youre planes is occupied and you have no decoys left, easy, you place the deadlock on top of the gate that the Rpgs was about to exit from and you totally neglect them for a period of time until your commandos has finished their job.
I think this wartactic will be much needed for all attackers in this game since the defence in this game got slightly overloaded after the introduction of conductor and GCI-radar, this wartactic might even out the balance in this game but not in a overtuned way, but a balanced way.
thanks for reading and i hope you enjoy my suggestion
