It took us over 30 hours to get a match, though when we did it was good...we are outmatched a little and they have one sandbag, but overall pretty fair matchup which is great. For context we are probably an early atomic average weight. Before glory and sandbagging, it was pretty common for us to wait about 12-24 hours for matches, tho we were doing 40v40 at the time....but it was ok because the matches were always pretty fair and fun.
Im wondering if they are trying to test out different ways to fix sandbagging. One of the fixes they mentioned as being considered was trying to match sandbagging teams with sandbagging teams, and non sandbagging teams with non sandbagging teams. That could possibly reduce the pool of available teams at the top end (like global/atomic teams). If that is the case (testing different fixes), I am 100% behind them in trying to find a way to solve the problem, I dont mind waiting as they experiment with different solutions. Although, Im still a big fan of just not counting the bottom 20-25% in matchmaking....seems like it would slightly expand the matching pool which is good for everyone, and combined with the glory penalty for extreme sandbagging it should eliminate sandbags.
Waiting days long term is no good....but if its a few weeks of them trying different tweaks to see what's best, I think thats great for the game and am happy to wait longer than normal.
