1. Can anyone verify what constitutes a defender? I assume it includes
  • each Garrison level of Infantry,
  • each Tank Depot level of Heavy Calvary,
  • each Bunker level of Heavy Tank,
but does it apply to
  • Generals from a Fort
  • defenders generated by studying Resistence In the library
  • Defenders generated by the Kremlin
  • defenders generated by the United Nations
2. Is there any way to verify the additional defender hitpoints or damage added by displaying a specific museum artifact or are we to assume the appropriate perks are added in?

thanks in advance.

I've asked the same question before and there's not a definite answer regarding your latter questions. In the first part you could also add forest defenders, coalition forces, and stronghold troops because they have the word defend in them. Logically (And going by past issues where events affected very specific troops), I would give 2 arguments on why the bonuses would/wouldn't apply because we can't see actual stats for defenders in defending mode. It merely tells you the unit that is spawned but not the hp or dmg whereas you can see the stats of units you can produce from barracks and such and when you add artifacts or univ research you can clearly see the numbers go up.

Why they would: All those troops mentioned from the generals, kremlin, alliance donated troops, resistance research, etc are in the act of defending your base so you would think they get the bonuses.

Why they wouldn't: This is the technical answer. Generals, kremlin, resistance research, etc do not actually have the word "Defend" in the descriptions of the buildings or research. It may say "Produces this unit when destroyed" and such but technically it does not say they come out to defend even though they are in the act of doing so.

Either answer makes sense to me. The only way is to test the theory without numbers. Maybe use alliance challenge and see if it is harder with/without artifacts. I think it's a good time to do so because of the legendary artifact that is available is 4/5 perks that are for defense.

Dont forget the Colosseum.
One could argue that spawned units do have hp & dps. Forest defenders are the same as your highest stable and TC defenders per your highest garrison.

... you could also add ..., coalition forces, and stronghold troops because they have the word defend in them.
Those troops are only available in wars and museum does not affect war battles... yet.

I should've put that part in a different paragraph.I know it was originally asking about museum buffs but I just wanted to add further evidence that Maori says defenders and those are buildings/troops that say defend on them and they get the bonus so the same would/could apply to museum.

Ugh I forgot the coliseum. I was looking at my base at the time. I gave that up to get Notre Dame for the time being because I need to upgrade troops.

The ambush troops as well are in the gray area because it doesn't have to word defend on them.

Good question, I’ve got 25% defenders damage riding on it too. I just assume all “defenders”.

This is what I think based on my long time experience with the game:

Defenders: garrison infantry, stable/depot cavalry/tanks, bunker heavy tanks, City center infantry (excluding alliace troops), Forest cavalry/tanks, Resistance troops, Farm resistance infantry, Ambush trap infantry.

Probably-defenders: Colosseum infantry, Command Post special troops, UN pacekeeping.

Non-defenders: City center alliance troops, Coalition troops, Stronghold troops, Fort Generals and their retinue.

Simply: Defenders are upgraded by upgrading specific defensive buildings while non-defenders are upgraded in the Armory (they are in fact attak units).
