Raiders die in silence

With all the buzz around alliance wars, it seems like most people overlooked the fact that patch 3.0 has killed raiders sniping.

Their regular dps has been reduced by 33%, which was compensated by a 4x instead of 3x on resource buildings to keep dps on resource buildings constant.

In addition, town center hp has been increased with road connections and even demolition tactic damage on town center has been cut in half.

Most people are focused on practising 5 starring army for alliance wars so raiders may not be the main focus at the moment. But I'd like to have a thought for these brave motos who keep getting chopped down at every patch release.

For my main account I switch over to tank sniping for while now. Unfortunately my second account I am still using raiders. Normally I get away with about 10 raiders taking out the tc. Now I have to pretty much use the full army. This will slow down my progress, which is what the dev wanted with the increase in cost to upgrades.

Raiders were OP - a lot of people said that. So, now that raiders are more potent for ''raiding'' - which is what they're bred for - you're still complaining. Tough s**t that you're no longer able to use raiders to snipe TC's - you might have to actually start thinking about strategy in this game!! Besides, footmen are better for sniping TC anyway - and they're cheaper.

I'm not complaining, I'm paying my respect to the deceased raiders. I've already moved on from raiders since patch 2.5.

The OP unit is a moving target. First footmen, then heavy cavalry, then raiders. What's next? Cannons?

Thinking about strategy is thinking about what's the optimal way to gain resources and medals per hour, given what the devs make available to you. Don't you worry about me :)

Not complaining, yes they are Op. We will adapt and find another efficient strategy. :)

Anyone else notice that Assyrian Horse Raiders have more base damage than Steppe Horse Raiders? Not that it matters, but when they start attacking defending troops....

Never noticed - interesting, since you acquire Steppe raiders after a couple of upgrades

Yes, true, HK. And it was the right decision. Dps per troop space for raiders was too high. Imo, the way they handled it in this update was right on. Increasing build time in the previous update was the wrong move.

Sorry Gail. That's a shame. Great troop anyway. Super fast, and you'll be surprised how effective they are at looting.

Hm..am I the only one thinks that raiders got better?, x4 dps vs resources and less dps vs TC...that's it! I use only raiders and I need them to take out resources and walls..that's it. If you need to take out TC just use canons or stuff....

Raiders didn't get better against resource buildings, they got the same dps against them. The 4x is a tweak to keep it constant while reducing their baseline dps.

Hmmm... Well I didn't take off my thigh high leather boots yet so I'm not ready to give up on them totally 😏

I've been using infantry or HC to take out TC for a while now. Didn't particularly like the raider approach. I suppose the trouble with discussing strategy on here is that they'll pick up on how we play and nerf those units come the next update. Better to stay silent lol. I don't mind the change to raiders tbh. I'll keep using them as intended - for resource buildings.

Of course, we've all learned our lessons. There's no real strategy discussions anymore on the forum. Any good strategy that becomes too popular will be killed in the next patch.

The tactics and strategies section is pretty much dead. Just a couple of topics we've all already answered before (best wonder, etc...). Sometimes I throw in a question (e.g. brits archers vs korean archers) as a decoy :)

We are all too aware that Big Brother (with wings) is watching. Nothing left to nerf though, they pretty much reduced all units in this game. I'm surprised they haven't touched the supply trucks yet.

Gattlings cone aoe was reduced so not buffed. Their main benefit was slowdown and damage reduction not dps. With smaller cone theyve been nerfed not buffed their dps isnt the main pt

I am currently in EA and Gold 1. The increase in TC health has stopped me going for IA bases. I will pick on EA and GP now for I have seen in IA a 4 medal gain... and a -32 medal loss because the TC is far too hard to get down. The cost is too much for the risk in getting down the walls and the TC in a reasonable time. Did they really intend this? Troop retrains are enormously expensive so my raiding will be limited.
