Wlc to the broken medal system otherwise known as DomiNations pvp. It's been brought up numerous times accompanied by [its being looked into] or [its on the devs list] or [...]. Just 1 of many inconsistencies surrounding this game.

just stay in a range of medal you are comfortable. Lower medal can meet easy target but may get constant raids. Higher medal get extra bonus for just win.

What medal range he should be in wasn't what he asked.

First, XP has nothing to do with anything.

It's all on how many medals you have.

It's loosely based on the Elo Rating, which in principal is a good thing. It stops a runaway leaderboard, people who start the game now, still have a shot at topping the medal table (except it's bugged and broken). If you attack somebody with a lot more medals you climb up faster and it drags them back down.

That's the good part. The implementation is complete merde.

1. There aren't enough players in the game so you get to see 'No Opponent Found' quite a bit, depending on time of day.
2. The matchmaking is also based on medals, a Grade-A blunder. The range appears to be your medals plus or minus 1000 with an plus/minus 1 Age, but as you only attempt to climb medals with Global, you're basically only seeing Global Age bases.

i.e. If you are at 1000 medals and go to attack, your opponents will be in a range of 200-2000 medals, 200 bods are worth 1 medal for a 5* win (even if they are L198), press 'Next' a lot to find a 2000 medal player and he'll be worth 39 medals for the 5* win.

At high levels, 3000+ it's complete luck whether you go any higher, the amount of 20+ medal wins available are extremely rare, mostly <10, but the second you log off, you'll lose 5-15 on average, with the odd -30.

It's unbalanced and unplayable, until it's fixed, this is Farmville with guns. Until you reach a max global age army, don't worry about medals, just raid, raid, raid for 4+ hours a day for 8 months until you get there.

I bet the next update is the next University Professor to upgrade, not any fix for the core game mechanics.

So what you're all saying is that this game is still broken and that medals don't really matter? Because I still don't see how it's working at all?

Pretty much, fact is they would rather flood the game with new (& I'd bet mostly untested) content then actually fix the biggest problems. Oh, and blame u of course for the mishaps that r actually on their end.

Some games (='s majority wide) fix a bug/glitch THE SAME DAY (ik absolutely uncanny) not "still working on it" after a year.

Whoever makes the "big...huge even" decision about [The unpopular corporate right choice] let's put everything and everyone on these bugs/glitches that have plagued this game and ultimately cost us players and $ or [The proud and constantly chosen wrong choice] let's continue to add new content to the game without fixing old problems thus...creating more problems should look at the top 100 grossing games and write down WHY they r so successful. I bet u will find some common denominators.

Yeah every company has goals to meet and check off with diff. departments working on new content all the time. But when does commonsense kick in to say "hello, why don't we fix the ongoing problems now so we still have a game to muck up later on?"

You can't lose 27 medals in a multiplayer battle against someone that is ranked higher, as in that player has more medals from you. That player would have had about 75 or 150 medals less than you at the time of the attack.

Age doesn't affect medals, it's only about the amount of medals that you and the opponent both have and the difference between them. As Eddie said, the range of bases that you can attack is within 1000 of your own, and the ages of the available bases would be your own age plus or minus 1.

If you were at 2000 medals, you could match against an opponent that has between 1000 and 3000 medals. It seems like 200 medals distance from you is where the 1 or 39 medals gained/lost per battle is, it might be 100 distance but don't recall.

So if you were at 2000 medals you could gain 1 medal with a 5 star victory from a player that has between 1000 and 1800 medals. If that player had between 1800 and 2000 medals, the medals gained would be scaled between 1 and half of 39 depending on how much of a difference there was between both of you, 1 medal gained if they're at 1800 and half of 39 gained if they're at 2000.
If the opponent had 2000 medals or more, the amount that could be won would be between half of 39 and 39 medals. If they had 2200 through 3000 medals, you could gain 39 medals with a 5 star victory. 2000-2200 would be scaled between half of 39 gained if they're at 2000 and 39 medals gained if they're at 2200.

Losing medals works in the same way as gaining medals and is based on the difference between you and your opponent. If they have 200+ medals less than you, you would lose 39 with a 5 star defeat. If they have over 200 medals than you, you would lose 1 medal with a 5 star defeat.

Again, not sure if the 1/39 gained/lost is 100 or 200 medals distance, or even different than that, but it's close enough for an example.

This is why players that have 3000 medals or more have such a hard time finding opponents and especially gaining medals.
