Resource raiders on a Chinese bases defense?

Hey guys, I just attacked a chinease base that spawned 2 units identical to the horse raiders that steal resources as soon as my troops spawned. They fired what looked rifles rather than bows and we're pretty strong compared to other defenders. Can someone explain where these came from? I'm in the classical age right now and so where they. Thank you! Just additional info they came from the town center as soon as my troops spawned unlike other defenders that have a spawn timer. Thank you!

They didn't come from the forest they spawned at the town center nowhere near the Forrest and were way faster than forest defenders.

I read through everything in the library. Partisans is way off. We're both in the classical age and couldn't possibly have that. I took pictures of the battle from the replay for you guys.

Hello, Brandon! I think that the spawned raiders that spawned from the town center are donated troops from alliance member after this player did a request troops.
