i agree Seek. Seasonal buffs are things that can inflate someone’s lack of strategy and skill to a point where they are now good at something they normally aren’t. They really don’t help the player get better. In looking at what has been buffed and nerfed. Mortar troops, battle tanks, and some factory troop could be next.
as with any open forum discussion, personal responses based on the effect of the change are common, and natural. Expression in discussion is a fundamental tenant. laboring on and on is exhausting to read. within an alliance, that’s where the advise comes for me and my team at the Holy Grail ( shameless plug ), and seeing as we don’t have a community chat, these forums have limited reach.

Curious, Crimson, what is your attack layout? Same for you Seek. For me, I’m all in on shooters. I have been for the past year. I used the brits. Have some great perks in the museum, and council that really improve their performance. From the manufacture building, I maxed out 2 perks to increase range, movement speed, and HP. Drone age, level 377. Offense is maxed, but defense in the city is still building.
I used to go with the Romans and bazookas. But their range was just to limited once I got to Information Age. Koreans were fun with shooters. Love their power, but hands down the British has been the best fit for my style.

If your army sucks without seasonal boost then it should suck until you fix it. Not become gods cause of some boost given by seasonal.
So the boosts give some people a false sense of ability, so what? Heaven forbid someone should get a helping hand.
It's temporary and hopefully it gives people a glimpse of what can be ahead of them if they upgrade, age up, invest in library, Museum, Uni, etc, etc. It isn't necessarily just about temporary boosts, it's as much about encouraging new combos, thinking outside the box, getting out of the same ole rut.

My layout? Take your pick. Over 4-5 active alts with different nations I have many.
My Auto Age base is Brits from day one. My fav layout early on was shooters, artillery and a couple of healers. That's it - super effective - so shooters rock, right? 🤘
I've tried many combos over the years but my current (& fav) layout in Auto is primarily helis, zooks, apcs. With the seasons I've been trying new variations of this layout with emphasis on the seasonal boosted troops - just to see how viable they might be. I'll generally persist for a few months because I like a challenge.
At the moment a couple of low age alts have varied layouts just to try and use some neglected troops. One combo which is quite effective is commando, gatling gun, mortar, artillery, tank, shooters, infantry (all varying quantities) - & sometimes a HT. This is surprisingly effective because, unlike an army with only 2 or 3 types, this rabble tend to go in all different directions. Defenders/towers don't have an easy time of tracking all the varied movements.

I used to like the Brits 'hands off' approach but now I prefer the in-your-face, keep-pushing-forward, don't-give-the-enemy-time-to-regroup mentality. 😄

I truthfully think it hurts newer players and mid level players. They don’t push the right thing in muse cause the buff cover up some there lacking and over all attacking skill is hurt cos use they try too many styles never master one. For defenders buffs and nerf are hard counter and frustrating esp to mid level defenders.

This was not me just being sour as some might say lol

Brother I am defender lol but most good attacker bounce between fighter heli mix and para seige/mortar mix .This slowly changing cause of munitions factory troops are coming back

I don't think you're sour at all - I think you tend to speak your mind. Keep going.
You talk about the buffs hurting because it may cover up something lacking or maybe it's at odds with their current style or whatever new style they might be trying? So what? This game is 8yrs old - plenty of time to experiment and grow and get better.
Us oldies tried plenty of styles over the last 8yrs until we found the ones that worked - and when metas changed we simply changed troops accordingly and adapted with the new meta. Don't expect me to feel too much sympathy for the newbies. Just like you say they shouldn't get extra slots or additional bonuses so I say they should go through the same trial and errors we did - it's the only way to learn what works and what doesn't. Nobody should expect to try a combo and have it work first time, every time, for ever.
If it's all too hard I'm sure the playstore has easier alternatives - I've heard Clash of Clans is a lot simpler to play.

ps: or maybe should BHG should make the seasons optional? Those who don't want to try new things and therefore not receive any freebies just don't select it - the rest of us will happily try and reap the rewards ...

Without any discussion, I just want to express my gratitude to BHG for the “Event: Boost Accelerations Campaign” (not sure about the correctness of the translation) - Thank you so much, guys! Lots of accelerations - it's awesome! I am happy to participate, and the rewards are so excellent - I wish there were more events like this. 🤝👍😁

The planes are restored quickly - this is generally on the verge of fantasy - wonderful, excellent! 👍💪😁 A warrior's paradise! ;)
BHG, Thank you again, now for “Event: Boost Crowns Campaign”! Chic! 👍💪😁
Organize campaigns like this more often :)

P.S. I hope all these advisors will still be more useful if... ;)

P.P.S. And only now I saw it. "Special Event: Year 8 Farewell". Fabulous! You have been very generous with awards and gifts lately. Keep it up! 👍💪

It’s April 4th, Swift and Stalwart is still awful.
My shooters move in movie like slow motion without the cool background effects.
They went so slow that I was able to go to the DMV and apply for a new license, I don’t need a new license, but I had that kind of time.
when I got back, my shooters had just made they way through half of the map. They of course were stuck in a bastion which at this point are just about the death sentence for the Swift and Stalwart shooters in season 7.
but, we only have another month of this.
Side note: The shooters u get from the expeditions, they weren’t buffed. They are normal speed, man, I miss that speed.

Guess it's time for another combo, eh?

Actually, I just played about an hour with my Gunpowder/Industrial alts and hardly noticed much change in their movement - but one thing I did notice is the the shooters now stay a little closer to the artillery - which results in a much more complimentary troop deployment. ie: they're not wandering off and leaving the artillery to fend for themselves. I can't imagine it would be much different in later ages?? 🤔
Silver linings ...

Thanks for that. I will add a few to my attacks. I really enjoyed industrial age.
im upgrading the med kit. It has some nice HP perks and attack speed.

You say 'hurt' but it reminds me of a Star Trek episode (yeah I'm a trekkie) 😁

Riker: What's the Zakdornian word for mismatch?
Zakdorn: Challenge ...
We are all trekkies. Classic and the last 3 movies are my favorite. The Wrath of Khan is a true master piece.

@Harlems369th @TheWise i would like some clarification here… Under “New Offensive Strategies” you only have Ranged Infantry and Armored Cars listed…

But…

In game you also have Paratroopers listed 🤨

A) Can you confirm which one is correct?

B) If Paratroopers are supposed to get seasonal changes can you please ensure they are getting the proper buffs/debuffs?

Paratrooper Attack speed +133%
Paratrooper Damage -55%

Essentially this should be an overall dps buff but paratroopers seem much weaker than before.

This was apart of the mid-season update that went live yesterday (4/7 11am EST). Those stats are correct.

Were the changes mentioned somewhere before the update, or did l miss it?
Mid-season changes information is updated when the update goes live; the first place you would have seen it is in-game when the update went live on 4/7. We updated the Season 6 forum page in a similar fashion.

Fake captains log.
The shooters are going so slow that it’s tomorrow and my guys still haven’t cleared the other half of the map.
‘but it’s ok, because they are also very slow. Wait, that what I just wrote. They are slow and not fast at all. Yes, that’s it.
shooters are slow, and move even slower.
update. My shooters got stuck in another bastion. It’s cool though, I just started reading Homers the Odyssey.
fake captain out.

( still love this darn game )
