Should I pick Notre Dame and then change to Colosseum at end-game?

Now since we can change wonders, is it better to pick Notre Dame which will save massive amount of resources for upgrades and then change it to Colosseum at endgame? Btw since Notre Dame can't be attacked, it can block invading army path? I mean does the invading army have to go around it, I can imagine that to be an advantage. I'm near classical age btw.

I forgot to add: do I miss anything on picking Colosseum at end game? basically what I mean is will the Colosseum put the same performance when built at end-game as those Colosseum built in classical age? Sry for bad english

Yes I will do it the same way. Notre Dame actually blocks enemies, but it has 5x5 and it only works as a wall 4x4 or 3x3 not pretty sure.

the update with the ability to change wonders and nations will ruin the game... just wait, and you'll see lots of people do just what you have asked, and build notre dame and do all their research cheap, then later replace it with the coliseum. i predict that all those that stay with the game will all have the exact same wonders (acropolis, coliseum, versailles) and will either be Roman, if they like attacking or Japanese if they want to be defense orientationed. if the wonders and nations were better balanced, this wouldn't be an issue, but they are not balanced well, and that's why everyone complained in the first place to have the ability to switch added.

Agreed Gambrinus. But now people start complaining about the fact that the players are switching to Romans/Japanese but this is BHG's fault. They need to better balance the game.

I dunnno. I like the collosium esp coupled w acropolis. Its a good defense and you can get the resources you need thru raiding. Im medieval so collosium works real well for me right now. Not sure how effective it will be at end game. I actually think I might do the reverse of what you suggest. Once the collosium is less effective as a defense, put it out to pasture for the notre dame.

Forget to mention that ive seen my troops squeeze around builings, so make sure you have something else to block them. Maybe a trap if you dont have enough fences. They seem to walk right through tree clusters and ruins and other non-attackable items.

I decided that I will build Notre Dame in Classical Age and once there are no upgrades left which will take a long time, I'll change it to Collosseum.
