Something should be done about saving merc troops.

I think merc troops should return home just like you regular troops do when you destroy all defensive buildings. Sometimes it take a while to get the resources you need to train them I can understand donated troops not returning but it would be nice to have the mercs return don't ya think?

While this would be nice I think it devalues the term "mercenary."

That being said I just accidentally deployed my mercs instead of my alliance troops to clean up a base and don't have any workers for another day to replenish for war. fml.

Mercenaries are a sort of donated troop, except they're paid. They are not part of the main force and not yours. So, while I would like it as much as the next guy, I don't approve this.

I don't think the mercenaries should be saved after battle. They are a bonus troop if you put the effort into getting trade goods.
