Greetings DomiNations Leaders!


We hope everyone has been enjoying the new War Coalitions and National Trade Goods! I’ve enjoyed hunting for specific Nations to attack (I’m always on the lookout for more French players to steamroll!), and I have kept my citizens busy upgrading the Embassy for access to some of the more advanced Coalitions. We’re excited to incorporate National Trade Goods into more features down the line - Coalitions are just the beginning!


The big news from the studio this month is that we are working hard to put the finishing touches on the next release: The Great Leaders. This has a major new feature starting in the Gunpowder Age, which gives you the opportunity to play with some of the Great Leaders from history. We also added more robust Leaderboard rankings for Alliances based on World Wars, so we can truly determine the #1 Alliance in the DomiNations! More on those features in a couple of weeks…


We’re also looking forward to adding language support for Turkish and Italian. We have a lot of players in these regions, and now they can play in their native language. Hopefully we can get even more Leaders from those countries to join the fight - the more the merrier!


With each release, we try to devote a significant portion of our bandwidth to fixing bugs, security flaws, and other annoyances, and the Great Leaders release will be no different. Some bugs are “client” fixes that require all-new version updates cleared by Apple and Google, and some are “server” fixes that happen in the background and might not even be immediately noticeable by players. Over the past month, we did a lot of server fixes that should have improved network connect issues. In particular, we significantly reduced the amount of data sent during battles, so people should see less of the yellow load spinner indicating a network issue. We hope this will result in meaningful improvement for many players, and many fewer network disconnects.


There are two issues that we haven’t yet fixed but are working very hard to resolve, and I wanted to give an update on each. The first is the problem of missing War Loot experienced by a small number of players. We fixed some of the issues here, but not all. We know this is an extremely frustrating bug, and we have not yet been able to consistently reproduce all the issues in a way that allows us to catch the problem. We added a ton of new notation to the game, which should point the way towards a permanent fix. The Great Leaders version also adds some behind-the-scenes reporting on War Replays, which is the last step in validating that we can turn on those replays so people can see how well they are performing during World War. Frankly, both issues have proved more difficult to resolve than we’d thought, and I apologize to the community for the long wait on these important updates.


One final improvement coming with Great Leaders - we’re tweaking the Alliance search algorithm to promote more active Alliances and be sure that there is a constant stream of new players to reinforce your World War armies! We also made some changes to show more medium sized Alliances in the search results.

Really appreciate the specificity of the information on fixes and the status of their implementation. Thanks a lot, will be great to pass this down to our players.

Psh...your problem isn't the alliance search issue...the real issue is your alliance name! Who want's to join an alliance called Hobbit Zombies?!? :)

Thx Tim, can u add any info of how the WW lb will b broken down;

ie
Overall Wins
Win %
Will there b individual lb as well?
And can u pls add (like in Hockey and I am pretty sure in World Football) a W/L/T/TW (Win/Lose/Tie/Tie Win)?
The destruction % rate in Wars is still not up to date and I am sure a lot of clans would like to not c the Tie loss show up in overall loses based on the % is not genuine until AFTER the war concludes.

That's great to hear, Tim. Especially on the specifics. Kudos on being honest about the bug issues as well.

I do look forward to the solving of the mobile data disconnect issues that myself and other players are currently facing.

O jogo e novo e esta crescendo muito, e totalmente compreensível estas questões torso para que sejam sanadas o mais breve possível, mas no geral o jogo e excepcional, muito detalhista e realista, todos vocês estão de parabéns.

Thanks for the update Tim. Looking forward to the new features and bugs fix.

1. Missing War Loot: Maybe you guys already have this info, but I'm stating it again to help you guys. One consistent situation will cause war loot to be missing is being in game when war is ending and calculating result. This is been reproduced by my alliance, so now I have advised my alliance to not be in game when war is ending. This temporary fix has helped resolve the missing war loot for my alliance members.

2. Connection issues: we have noticed a fewer connection issues the last 2-3 weeks. Good job and continue to improve your servers.

3. Alliance search: thanks for reverting back to the old algorithm to keep active alliances active.

4. War leader board: thanks for adding this and hopefully you guys included all the wars we have battled in the ranking.

5. War replay: Looking forward to this highly requested feature to make War much better.

I don't think it's actually good to count all those wins already done... The cheating has significantly reduced since the GA update, with the security improvements installed then... Sure there were some cheats still active, but those only included crowning, not the instant win with tactics for example... so all those would be negated, which I think would be the fairest solution..

I agree about the clans who've won wars by cheating (ik we've ran into a few ourselves) but as a clan who've been warring since day 1 (legitimately), to not have...however many wars we've won not count, would penalize those clans who war fair as well.

Sadly there's no clear cut solution on this matter except, (I can't believe I am typing this...contact CS and make them aware).

Yes I agree fable, just because there are cheating alliances in war, we should not penalize the legit alliances who have earned many victories since day 1 of World War like us.

Great to see that the alliance recruitment issue has been rectified. I was banking on using the world war leaderboard feature as a legitimate tool for recruitment, so both together should see significant growth in alliances that are reasonably well organised in war.

Grateful too, Tim, for giving us an update on the missing loot and replay issues.

Ummm, zombies or hobbits! But we also get farmers, irish archers, Hooo knows whatses, gassy bovines, monkey gods, catty rams, dueling superheroes, marble statues, huge asses, uniclowns and gene simmons imitators.... There is still room for a cranky russian or two though :)

Looking forward to the new content with "The Great Leaders"!
Also, appreciate the need for balancing new content with the fixing of the alliance search algorithm! A very welcome fix, that we all would look forward to!

Does this mean there's going to be a single leaderboard for alliances, incorporating both medals as well as the World War performance as criteria?
