Hello Leaders!
What an exciting first four months it’s been for Big Huge Games and for DomiNations! After two years and countless nights & weekends of work, we were finally able to get the game into players’ hands all over the world. We’ve been incredibly grateful for your support and passion for the title, and are particularly happy to have launched a fun game that I believe people will be playing for many years.
And now the real work begins!
We know that DomiNations has a lot of areas we could improve, including bugs, connectivity, AI, and cheat detection / response. We are working hard on all of these issues, and also looking to add new features for the game that people will enjoy playing. Not only is this our team’s first game as a startup (in this incarnation of Big Huge Games), but also our first mobile title, our first combat city-builder, and our first game developed in Unity, so we are constantly learning new things and striving to improve our processes for dealing with issues. We’ve also been hiring additional staff to be sure we are able to handle the volume of players this game has achieved. We have been gratified but also caught a bit off guard by the tremendous popularity of DomiNations, which overloaded some of our ability to properly support the game. You deserve better, and we are confident that we now have the staff to deliver top-quality service to our players. The community here has been very patient as we’ve worked through our growing pains, and I want to thank everyone here for your support.
Big Huge Games has also not been as active in the community as I would like, due to our mad scramble to keep up with the thousand issues that a worldwide launch uncovers. Moving forward, we’ll be spending more time online so we are listening to you – our best players – and hearing your feedback on ways to make the game better.
The Industrial Age release is now in platform review, and should be live in the next week. It contains a ton of fun new content, bug fixes, balance tweaks, AI improvements, hack prevention, and cheat detection. We’ll be kicking off the launch of Industrial Age with a weeklong Titans of Industry event, available for all players in Bronze Age and above, which boosts the amount of resources gathered from your collectors and improves the loot hauls from PvP.
