yes just the cost to upgrade. They use the word "rush" liberally it seems, because this isnt a rush.

When you are into a low age yes this event is a rush

at IA where im at, when building times take 7 days or longer, i can save a few million in resources and thats it. its not a rush, its just a cost reduction sale. With exception of oil cost reductions, its really not that big of a help as its so easy to farm gold/food so all it really does for us at a later age is make us play less because we dont have to farm that extra 30 min to start our next upgrade.

To be considered a rush, would imply that someone in classical age could potentially get to IA/GA/AA during this event, thats not possible. for those players already at AA and just working on maxing their base, it doesnt help them Rush anything, they again just get a discount on resource cost. They still have to wait 14 days for their mortar to upgrade.

So lets say i dont have any mortars at AA level, i can start them on the first day for a total of 21M gold instead of the 42M, which is a nice savings, but thats all i will save during that weeks time because of the 14day upgrade time. This is really no different than the weekly discounts with exception of it covering more buildings and 3 days longer than the normal weekly discount.

The only thing these events promote is unbalanced base upgrading as some will make the mistake and rush to a higher age than they should with the instant tc build time.

Well apparently there's also sale packages for those in the relevant ages to instant upgrade a suite of buildings as well, so to an extent some can definitely jump a few ages over this sale period. I assume this will continue through the whole event

they offer those "sales" all the time. When you get to Industrial age, youll have a sale of 34.99 to instantly build a Bunker and a sale of 64.99 to instantly finish 4 chapters of Airplane research in the library.

so its only a rush if you want to dish out money, which really isnt any different than normal. If i want to dish out money and instantly finish a building i can always do that by paying crowns.

Yeah but it's not just a bunker or a chapter. It's all of the upgrades in one package.
