this is what is wrong with defense it's called neglect!

100% of the complaints should be against the museum. This is not a neglect of defense but an over power of the museum.

Run this example.

Damage per second is 500 base. A defense player has a +100% bonus. Dps is now 1000 dps. The attacker has a -80% dps. That then reduces dps to 200 dps. Defender even with the larger percentage still sees a weaker defense.

The best solution IMO is to nerf the museum. Cap all reductions in war at -50% and all boosts at +85%. This would cut both ways but would bring things more in line.

Odin. Just curious. What age are you in now to think mortars are overpowered?
drone age. I used cwa cannons and space age mortars with premium TT and cleared our best defender (i am a defender too) and can five star almost any base in mp with this troop combo. Mortars need a slight reduction in damage. Believe me, they will become soon the new meta for all alliances. For now, you mostly see it in top 40

Are you sure it works by netting first?

The looted resources sure doesn’t. I don’t know how but netting oil and all rss looted gives me +150% and yet when I raid I get + 300%. Does not seem like it nets but it seems like it applies them separately. Have you seen the code?

Why should two lines net which are both in your museum? Doesn’t make any sense. On the other side it’s senseful two net yours and your opponents WAR museum. And yes, I am sure.

Good discussion, I think their is truth to both sides of it. I also think that BHG developers are very limited in what they can actually do but that may be a different conversation.

I’m a defensive player (424) have played in top alliances (top 10, top 20) and quite frankly, the game is just really boring at those levels. For two reasons; no base survives and you are constantly playing the same teams. Inside the top 25 or so, i’m not sure how those teams/players get much enjoyment out of the game. They are usually so stacked with great bases and museums that rarely do they get beat by teams lower than them (usually they take a lower team lightly) but also they rarely beat teams higher than them. Their is just not a lot of movement at that level.

As to the first point, no base survives. I don’t find that fun at all either but I’m a defense guy...lol Their are a lot of great suggestions in prior comments and I agree that it is just a minor tweak or two but again I think BHG is limited in what they have the ability to do. I recently moved down to play with an old alliance in the 80-100 range and in the nine wars we had, my base did not get 5 starred once. I did find that slightly more enjoyable especially because we played vs alliances I was not familiar with.

Personally though, I’ve decided to go unallied and just play the game as MP. I just don’t see the point in spending $$$ anymore or at least at the rate I was spending. I can play at whatever pace I want, as much or as little and don’t have to spend. I’m usually welcomed to visit most alliances to do a war or two when I feel the urge to participate in war.

So that is where I’m at with the game, not that anyone was asking…lol As a higher level defender, it’s just not fun or interesting to participate in wars. It’s impossible to defend at higher levels but my base is rarely beaten at an alliance level just 50-70 spots away. Their isn’t a sweet spot and I don’t think that BHG is capable of satisfying every player in the game. If I had to do it all over again, I’d go offense…lol

That isn't how it works. 500 base. 100 def and -80 off results in 20 def which means the final number is 600.

The argument that offense and defense must be the same (ie: balanced) perplexes me. That would result in détente - and that's just ridiculous. (like M.A.D.)
Scenario: If everyone can clear a base in 2mins - which some are arguing against - this ends with evenly matched scores.
Scenario: if defense is stronger for everyone - and everyone only gets 3 stars where they previously got 5 - you'd end up exactly where you currently are with the same outcome you're arguing against.

Also, if the "defense needs improving" camp want to be taken seriously then maybe you shouldn't be using your own experiences as proof. You might - might - garner more sympathy if you were more objective. It would also help your argument.
If you read my posts, i have never advocated for offense and defense to be completely even. Offense does need to be stronger to an extent. What I've said over and over is that offense is too strong. I've also said that to keep the acquisition of resources relatively easy, buff defense war museum. Also, make it so no tt is affected by the museum. Last but not least, reduce time and costs to upgrade stuff in all ages 2+ lower than max age.
