Don't won't to offend you but it looks a like a noob advices. For example there is a poor nation choice in Dominations. Greece is strictly worse than France, Japan is strictly worse than the Germans.

And Forbidden city is not the weakest wonder among Classical age.

I kind of disagree Tiz. While not perfect, I think a new player would be better off if they read all this than if they never read anything about the game. Its a reasonably well organized set of info to get someone started off in the game. Trying to navigate this forum as a newbie would be hellish.

I disagree with your disagree. New players actually need two pieces of very important information. First is how to manage medal count and avoid being roflstomped by stronger players after each logout. Second is how to use raiders tactics which is extremely efficient on low ages. This guide misses both which means the author is not very good at game himself.

Using raiders shows lack of experience in itself. Newer players need to learn how to build proper effective armies so when they advance they can actually win rather then just drop some kamikaze troops to steal loot

Let be fair to the person that took the time n trouble to post this and trying to help. He can be wrong in some of his content and understanding of the game but at least he tried.

What did you do, if you are that good and consider yourself as an better player or pro? Sit there and says other doing a shitty works?

Provide help to other will make you a better leader. No ?

And what is a proper army? Shooters and light infantry? Against stronghold? The way of suffering. Or maybe just fill all your storages with single -suicide- attack against gunpowder age.

Bad advices are bad. Sorry. No matter how good they structured and no matter how much efforts made.

As a player who made second account I see that this guide send new players in wrong direction.

And "What did you do" is bad argument for that matter.

For absolutely brand new players, the summary you need to know:
1. Pick British, French or German. German for endgame offense, British for consistently strong offense through the ages, French for faster training times.
2. Acropolis is the first wonder. You won't appreciate it much now, but will end up going to it if you stick around, so save the crowns. The other three are basically worthless.
3. Upgrade resource storage buildings, library, and offense primarily early, and move up ages quickly. Age maxed defenses will slow your progress down and barely hurt your higher age attackers.
4. Infantry and raiders hitting much higher level bases for a loss can fill your resources quickly at low cost. Very little reason to build a mixed army until gunpowder at least.
5. Once you reach Classical, check in again for wonder choices. Hopefully with a better idea of what you like about the game. There are strong arguments for all 4 wonders in this age.
For Gunpowder, Versailles is the clear best choice.

6. (Optional) Join a fun alliance. Improves the entertainment value of the game significantly. You will get a lot of the other information you need from asking higher level players in your alliance what they think.

Not impressed with these articles. A link to the relevant wiki pages would be more helpful.

To all newbie players: read everything. Even if some players think it's bad advice, read it. It might be better than the advice you're currently getting.
Be wary of people who speak in absolutes eg: This wonder is crap; that strategy doesn't work. What it usually means is it's crap for them or it doesn't work for them.
Once you've read as much as you can, experiment. That's the only way you'll know for sure. Be guided by what people say but find your own way. Don't be afraid to try different army combos or wonders or base layouts.
By the time you reach Gunpowder or Enlightenment you should have a pretty good idea of what works for you. That's when you usually find your long term strategy. But even then, strategies can change. :D
Finally, kudos to the LevelWinner for making the effort. I couldn't see much wrong with your advice, for newbies or not. I'm sure new players appreciate the effort.

I have know idea what you’re trying to say with that comment. Was just rambling from what I got from it.

A proper army is one that you can win with. Telling a new player to just use raiders to steal loot teaches them nothing about attack strategy which is what you need to know when you get to the higher ages against harder opponents. If they learn that when they are still new to the game then they don’t have to try to figure it out against harder opponents. You can’t score unless you learn to shoot the puck first.

1. British are the easiest to play with their extra range for shooters, and their loot bonus adds up enormously.
2. Acropolis is not the best wonder, there will allways be someone stronger than you coming along who will five-star you so defensive wonders are soso at best. Also acropolis will force you to put your garrisons around it thus limiting your design options. Best go for Stonehenge which will give you millions of gold over the ages.
3. Do NOT move up quickly, that will ruin your fun. You might consider a slingshot, but only when the next age will give you an extra house.
4. Have a mixed army going up in medals, and use raiders only going down in medals while only hitting abandoned bases.
5. Hands down the best wonder in the game is Notre Dame.
6. Good point

1. British are easier to play. But there are other considerations. French quick training is fun for those who like frequent attacks, and they can fill war bases like crazy on a training blessing. I love teutonic fury on my german alt.
2. I value wonders on this basis; offensive boost, defensive boost, oil boost. Acropolis is the only one that helps with any of the three at that age. Doesn't help a lot early, but it is almost universal for late game players. And I consider gold the least valuable / easiest to gain resource. After finishing walls, I sit with full markets on the edge all the time now. An argument can be made for hanging gardens if you use a lot of mercenaries, but iffy even there. No long term player in our alliance has anything other than Acropolis.
3. Rushing is a matter of perspective. For me, war is fun. Industrial (planes and decoys) is the first truly effective war age facing stronghold troops. And then going from industrial to global is huge boosts to ranged siege and decoys, and global to atomic is game changing, with APCs, THs and the HP boost to your fighters in Amelia.
4. Good strategy in industrial. I did it from the beginning with my first account, and then did pure raiding until industrial on my alt.
5. Notre Dame saves a bunch of oil and food. Terracotta is an excellent offensive wonder with a nice extra 20 troops for war, and a little defense. Coliseum has a good offensive tactic, and mediocre defensive boost. Forbidden City is popular with very strong war defenders and medal climbers. There are good choices here.
