lvl52 in medieval. ive barely touched farms, caravans, traps preferring to keep my workers focused on offense/defense. i dont value traps very highly yet since they get triggered by weak attacks shortly after i log off. and in morning when i log back on out of 13 attacks they did jack squat for one of them. farms caravans roads are useless distractions.....in 8 levels ill have the option to start enlightenment. but should i?............pros are much stronger soldiers(infantry that can shoot over walls), 15 more army slots(so like 10% more). bragging rights. more walls, and extra redoubt. last of all it will remove classical players from my farming roation. usually classical players have 9k of each resource so i skip over them.........cons are...classical players will be removed from my rotation and sometimes u find one with a respectable amount of easy to loot resources. it will also give me a penalty to medieval gunpowder cities i raid. which offsets the stronger offense. but is the penalty as bad as the stronger offense is good?.......so what u guys think. stay in gunpowder unti ive maxed offense/defense? or jump into enlightenment to push my offense higher at the cost of defense?

to paragraph or not
Apparently this is a mobile issue. People are complaining elsewhere that the forum is removing their formatting when they are using a mobile device.

But on topic, I always suggesting maxing everything you can before moving up. It makes the farming easier and it also means that when you move up you should have an easier time affording the new buildings and upgrades.

I originally thought about maxing everything, but now I'm close to the end of GP I'm thinking of going sooner. I'm not upgrading farms/caravans either - My walls are L7, so think that can stand the move also.

Because in GP it's all about raiding, not farms or caravans - then the boost in barracks/troops alone makes it a viable option.

I'm going once I've done all the defensive/offensive upgrades.

FWIW I think it is always about raiding. Even max caravans, roads and farms don't really put much of a dent in what you need for high end upgrades. So I guess I would agree that those just aren't necessary to move up. The vault is pretty handy though.

It's supposed to hide resources you deposit from your attackers. But not sure if this is working properly because I have had my vault raided a few times.

Yes. Even if the enemy destroy your vault in the attack, you keep the resources that were in there. Very cool, build it quick.

I went to GP before maxing upgrades, I don't think it was the best decision. I'm maxing everything before enlightenment. It also means you can attack classical for longer.
