Until issues are fixed, no more $ from me

Ok, I tried to be patient. Gave my best feedback in the various threads. Attempted to stay as positive as I could, which was very, very difficult. Well, clearly our voices haven't been heard in what appears to be an "update" that contains zero fixes to most important problems, yet instead pushed down more new content (invariably adding to the list of bugs) with hopes of increased spending. Well I'm over it. They won't see another dollar of mine until our voices are heard and they address these massive issues.. Not ask for feedback... Not say fixes are coming.. Not another dollar until an update goes through that fixes these primary issues:

1. Medal system works
2. Alliance search is fixed
3. Network disconnect issue is resolved

I'm speaking for myself, but am sure I am not alone in this...

I'd have to agree. Lets face it, new features are generally fun and things we want. But when there are such huge and fundamental problems with the game, they really need to have all resources dedicated to them. Its discouraging for me to read that all of this development time has gone into new features, balances on bazookas, etc...when there are crippling problems in the game making people drop like flies - reduced war stars for no reason, horrid network crashes impacting war and multiplayer that are clearly nexon issues, alliances crumbling due to no new members which is increasing everyone's war queue times, medals which are already hard to get magically disappearing, etc.

I dont mind that nexon delivers new features, thats great, but they cannot be enjoyed until these crazy things are fixed. It just screams mismanagement and really bad prioritization. Its been said before that there are separate teams for content and regular bug fixes. To be honest, I'd take every single person off content and double up on bringing this game back to an acceptable technical state if I were to give Nexon one suggestion.

So if 5 developers read the same book at the same time, will they get through it 5x faster? Every time I bring this up with my dev teams at work they throw that at me...the point is sometimes throwing more bodies at an issue does not fix it any quicker, in fact a lot of times they get in the way of each other and things get done slower. That's why you have updates with other stuff, because they have a lot of devs and many are working on other things...if they all worked on the same thing it would look like those construction sites where all the union workers try to be the crossing guard, eventually only one is doing the work and the rest stand around doing nothing.

redprince , explain to me why they can't simply roll back the alliance search algorithm? I don't think it disappeared or would be unstable in any new engine, but admittedly I'm no expert nor do I work in the field..

Red prince I am not a developer so I will defer to your expertise there. However I am a business guy, and if you truly feel their position is defensible then there is probably nothing I can do to help change that.

What would you have your development teams do if they had a horribly broken product and had regressed significantly over the last 3 months. Maybe you can help them?

I guess I need to clarify my position a bit. If I knew that they were doing nothing with the issues everyone is bringing up, I would also be up in arms. But they have said several times that war replays is coming, they are looking into fixing the alliance recruiting issue, crash issues are being addressed, and they continue to work on getting cheats. So...with that I am going to be patient so they can take the necessary time to fix it. If they are doing it right they need to stick to a process, they cannot just jump on the emotional responses of gamers and execs. And I've been playing this game for over a year, ever since it came out...it is not regressing. It has it's issues that popup every couple months or so (and yes they may linger because some take a while to fix), but it's not regression, it's the side-effects of progress.

Side effects of progress? So any time you're moving its progress - even if it's sideways and not forwards?!

I know what you're saying redman - l suspect this update was several weeks in the making and the recent month of glitches wasn't going to stop it's implementation. Even though l don't war the new embassy stuff actually looks like its going to a worthwhile addition. I do like cheese after a nice dinner of roast chicken legs!

I hear you Clintman. Personally, my days of spending are over - I'm one of those once bitten, twice shy kinda guys - or in the case of Nexon: many times bitten, twice shy.
I may change my tune in the future but the game and specifically AI & server issues would have to improve substantially for me to start buying crowns again. I doubt Nexon will go broke though ..... but I'll save up for that holiday in no time!!

for me the one thing that seemed so easy to roll back was the alliance search algorithm (and I have zero vested interest, our den of thieves is always hoppin), and clearly that didn't happen. It's just killing the community. The disconnect has driven me nuts too. Medals come and go, however, I get and respect what everyone has said on that accord and co-sign on that fully as well...

The AI glitches drive me mad, but as redprince alluded to there has to be some give and take.. It's just that alliance thing seems so easy flip the switch back to my non-technical self.. O well.. more fun money for me 🍻🍻😜

I suggest everyone really doing the same.

If they are going the way I think they are going, you will regret all the money you expend now... My first Chinese devs online game I played, I expend 20€, not that much time later the game was closed, I really regret it, felt real scammed.

Until Nexons shows any sign of changing major things... Better to stay away of expending.

I'm going to buck the trend here and say that I will likely keep spending crowns. If what you say is true and you stop spending money on it and as a result of that the game folds, then I will have lost a game which I really enjoy. I'd rather support the development of it by spending some more money on it. I'm not spending huge amounts anyway.

I get enough benefit back from the money I invested. For the future, if there is new age and new starter pack, I think I will still buy. The risk that they are closed in a near future is very tiny as now they have Nexon taking care financially.

I am a developer and UI designer. I can roughly guess the development cycle and procedure their R&D team follows. If they say they know issue A and they are working on issue A, then more complaint from player base will not make it faster. Because they need internal trunk version QA and final release stress test. Donot forget they need all modules reaching a common release time point to make a complete release. All takes time and the only thing we can do is being patient as an end user.

As a user, we can influence them on something they do not address yet or they do not put high enough priority. I do not think that is the case around the mysterious alliance recruiting methodology or more complicated bugs causing game crashes. The reason why they do not rollback old alliance search methodology is because they want to improve the current method to really achieve their initial intention: give a fair chance for all alliance, big or small. Considering that rollback still need development (as other modules changed) and QA, why not progressing in the direction they think it is correct? Anyway, never underestimate the ego of developer. :)

Put on the list the training time and trained troop icon glitch, non-functional customer support, and ignorant development lines.

How many times we asked to revert the battle list in war?
How many times we asked to put the war rank of the opponent into the battle list?
How many times we asked to fix the game chat?
How many times we asked to buff the Greeks?
How many times we asked to fix the training time and correct the trained troop icon?

These are easy fixes, no redesign or braking change is required.

Not talking about War replays, AI fixes or some more genuine requests... Like balancing the economy.

Instead of we get another patch with a completely uncontrollable feature (who can tell whether I got the defensive or offensive buff from the embassy) and a few fixes of issues I have never seen...

I'm fed up with this incompetence.

Agree. Most of the listed points we should raise to developer to raise the priority. It seems they put them at the end of their to-do list because a developer's think is these points are not breaking the workability. Buff Greeks is a very big topic.... this one need more consideration and thinking.
