Upgrading embassy with active coalitions

Does anyone know if upgrading an embassy while coalitions are active will cancel them?

No it will not cancel it.
Moreover if you finish the upgrade before the beginning of the war you will use the new level coalition.

You upgrade coalitions at the armory, not embassy
