War Academy tactics spaces

in Medieval age the War Academy has 3 tactics spaces. If you research Battle tactics chapter 3 in the library, you then gain another space. Great! However, when you upgrade to Gunpowder age and then upgrade your War Academy to level 4, you gain nothing. Even though the war academy level 4 has 4 tactics spaces. In my mind, the extra space gained through library research, should then give you 5 spaces. Or does this library research disappear in Gunpowder age? Please can someone explain?

The wiki shows that level 4 WA has 4 spaces and the level 3 has 3 spaces. But no mention is made of the extra space that can be gained in the library.

there are other upgrades that dont seem to unlock anything. those unlock max available upgrades at the armory

I don't remember all upgrades but for example the last nuclear age upgrade also doesn't give any more space, it just allows to upgrade the tactics at the armory as said above.

Level 4 (unlocked at Gunpowder Age) doesn't grant an extra Tactics slot. It does, however, unlock Demolition.
Level 8 (unlocked at Atomic Age) is the only other upgrade that doesn't provide an extra Tactics space, as Kaiser Shag correctly pointed out!
