I've said it before and repeat again... I completely agree with redgar here.
There is no reason to buy crowns for real money in this game any more, in the state it is right now.

Alliance members who do not have opponents to battle with, do not encourage me to advance any faster as I do right now.

I'll play along in the slow pace the game offers, but till nexon/bhg takes action and start listening to their users/customers, I will not spent one dime on it anymore.

Nexon/bhg, you'll not make more money, unless you change your attitude towards your players/customers !!!!!

Solid points. It's a shame that people bash the game in the App Store out of frustration (both teenagers and adults). Scaring new people away isn't an effective way to push for improvements. And anyone who ranks this game below 4 stars is likely doing so out of frustration, rather than giving it a fair assessment.

This is what I see in my app store. The worst is when you start reading the reviews. Skip the ones from noobs who just installed the game and start rating it while in iron age. The ones who went a little bit further are just destroying its reputation.

Thats so weird im seeing 4.5 stars on both my phones. What are other people seeing? Maybe its by country?

There's no point of having an official monitored forum if Nexon can't take constructive feedback from the dedicated players who are actually beta testing this game for them. So I do have some hopes they are open minded. How many people at Nexon actually play the game in real life conditions, waiting for building upgrades and trying to win battles in normal conditions (i.e. not attacking some bots)? Probably not a lot.

Most of us, actually. Most people had an account before they started, or start shortly thereafter. :) We have QA/internal accounts for things like testing; live accounts are for playing in real time. I've been pretty slow at upgrading things; I'm in Gunpowder :)

I think you should play industrial age one month or with an account with +3000 medals and you will discover that your game is actually broken

Yea, Iron crown your way up to IA. Balance till GP is more or less fine, no sense to test it. At least you have a difficulty and features expansion curves done right, nation balance and medal systems working. But starting from EA/3k medals it fails so badly. No opps, ghost attacks, 2-3 usable units, cheats, no progress, lack of usable features, dull combat, no efficient crowns spends, just two buttons application, in fact, not even a game. Active players may pass GP in two weeks and this is not enough for convertions, you know.

Gunpowder is still in honeymoon. Take advantage of the Crown sale now and Crown yourself to EA. Then slowly feel and understand what we are experiencing. I do not recommend you crowning to IA. You should slowly upgrade yourself to it from EA and feel it.

Good to know you're reading Ironangel! I did say "not a lot", I didn't say "nobody" :)

I work for a software company so I know the reality is that you can't test everything, you don't have the manpower to do that. The people who are testing the software are the users in a live situation. What we are advising here is that our feedback is sent back to the developers or support for improvements, that's all. Stop spending time on deciding whether animal blessing needs to be 5, 7 or 10 mins, work on the big issues that are demotivating the majority of players (medal system, cheaters, etc...).

At least, if we see things moving, it gives us hope that things will eventually change for the better. When we report a cheater, check again 2 weeks later and he's still around, that doesn't bring any confidence you are in control of the game.

Currently, I'm in crown paid peace treaty at 3200 medals. I haven't played for a week and plan on extending it. Because if I break it, I won't find opponents and then as soon as I log off, I will get attacked multiple times under defeat peace treaty. I already have a long history with customer support for bugs (including village swap). So far I've put up with all of it, but at the moment, I don't see the point of continuing. I'm actually moving up the medal ladder by not playing because every one around me is hit with broken peace treaties.

This is not where you want your game to end up (people ending up in peace treaty). And as everyone else said, yes lower ages are pretty well tested now. The problem and bugs will always be on the latest code release, and that is IA. And for uncharted territory like above 3200 medals where more stress testing needs to happen.

As I said, I am slow and far behind :) There are others here that are much more advanced than I am!

Do you have any open positions at BHG? I'd like to apply for a mod position, get paid to play the game all day. That sounds like a fun job.

Ironangel, if you need any tips to progress, please post on the tactics and strategies forum and we'll help you out! :)

Why I don't buy crowns: simple really: there is no refund for mistakes made by developers. Ironic that a developer of strategy games lacks foresight!
