World War Matchmaking Changes

For us the new matching system is a catastrophe. 2 wars in a row with a ridiculous amount of glory to win for us.
5 points, now only 1 point......
For the 5 points to win, the war is not even fair for our opponents, we are so much strongers than us. Every teams, mine and our opponents, lose its time in these boring wars. They couldn't win.
For the one with 1 point to win it s quite balanced, teams have more or less the same power... But 1 point to win really

Those waiting weeks, etc. for wars, how many members are you trying with? Just curious. I know we have switched to 15 player wars because of sandbaggers.

I commented about our last war on the tremendous imbalance. We don't care much about the number of glory points to win or lose. we DO CARE about being given impossible matches. We just got another one. Our top playe is an industrial 144. We are fielding three industrials (144, 124, and 110), plus 11 enlightenment, 5 gunpowder and 1 medieval. The opposition has six global (190, 180, 177, 175, 148, 142), seven industrial (starting with a 178 and a 176), 3 enlightenment, two gunpowder and two medieval. This is not about sandbagging. This is just a demoralizingly and blatantly bad mismatch. Your software is broken.

I have recommended to our alliance that we no-show for this war and stop attempting wars until you get this fixed.

Maybe they are working on it right this second... Because I have searching for a war for over 5 hours now with no luck... So much for better wait times...

Awful innovations in the selection of an opponent on world wars. Our clan is top-75. In Contenders we got Forca Nacional (top-24). Their composition is 2-3 times stronger than ours. They have 13 atoms (of which 5 are 210+ atoms) and 3 Global Ages in the war, against our 5 atoms of which two have just crossed and still have the attack of the Global Age) and 5 World Ages, and the rest are Industrial and below. How should we fight against such rivals? It's better to immediately make the button "White Flag", because of such wars there is no point. We played with them in a draw while spending a lot of purchased troops. But we were lucky that the time parameter did not work. In general, better return it as it was before.

Our recent matchups have been more lopsided than before (both in our favor and against). I know the top alliances are complaining the loudest, but these latest changes seem to have made it worse for everyone.

New system is even more bs that the previous.

Our training alliance is Enlightenment and under only. Our highest level players are in the 130s. We are constantly matched up against alliances with multiple Atomics and Globals. The last two wars (15v15) since the "improvements" have had us up against teams with the top 7 being non-rushed IA, Global, Atomics all over lvl 150. Both opponents had higher glory. And yet we were "favored" with 8/600 and 30/400 glory splits. We managed to keep it close by clearing every IA and under but there is no way to get more that a few stars on the Globals and Atomics. If we lost 8 glory it wouldn't be that awful but losing 600 is a joke. How many months will it take to earn that back if the glory numbers remain the same?

Yes, is a joke! this is same for us in most of the time, we struggling to winning only for 7 to 27(under 30) against 600 to 800 glory if we lose war! we are not on top board or very powerful, while our opponents obviously are much more powerful than us and they are not ​​​​fair wars !
I don't know how they calculate glory, would be great if they mentioned to know!

I believe, there is should be differences between wars 10vs10, 15vs15, 20vs20,...
We tried all and even tried on 35vs35, but nothing changed!
Managing larger wars is much harder, but there is not any encourage or bonuses for larger war teams!

This is a completely different way of calculating glory than before. And I don't believe it's working properly. My team ranked #4 just faced the team ranked #20. It's hardly a missmatch. However we are awarded 12 glory point for winning and 1,004 for losing. It's conceivable a team ranked #4 is tougher than a team ranked #20, especially since the top 20 is more or les the same for months. But are we 1000x tougher? I don't think so....

We were on 19k glory (nxt 20k glory) and played 30vs30, 35vs35 and serious bout wars to being on top of leaderboard , but due to unfair matches and glory we are on 17k glory and playing 10vs10, 15vs15 now!

there is no incentive to participating in wars any more (even not at all from loot, coz we cost a lot for each attack and loot rewards are not worth it),we only participate in wars for fun any more, and every time we losing some of our active participants and they diminish for the nxt war due to lack of incentive!
And it's predictable soon we will be not able to make a war due to lack of participants!

In all of the matches where there were little glory to be gained, I have observed that the other team has been totally destroyed...

You are totally wrong!
if it was same like then here was nothing important a lot for more inconveniences!

Today, we had a server update, which will re-calculate Glory more appropriately for the new Matchmaking rules. The newest Glory calculations will begin with the next World War you participate in.

Thank you for being patient as we looked through the last week's worth of war data!

this should be in its own thread, would be great if other alliances did this to show how bad the matchmaking really is.

Great example of how even just two iron age bases can completely wreck the matchmaking algorithm. Increase it to 4-6 irons and its beyond ridiculous that a game would ever allow matching like that.

I keep the kind of data that shows relevant matches/mismatches war by war. They say a picture is worth a thousand words. My next 'player' level solution is to reduce the team size. My guys can beat laterals 2 levels and 20-30% above them, and it's more difficult to stack much with smaller teams.
