Your raiders/sniper army

So, when there are high chances that raiders will be 'rebelanced' let's share all the tricks we have learned so far.

What I see is that there are different approaches to raiding armies, so let's share those ones you use for wins, not dropping medals.

I saw two common approaches: pure raiders + wallbreakers or also expanded with HC/tanks and small number of soldiers, and 1-2 distracting archers. Rarely a cannon or two vs forbidden city or IA max TC.

So what I learned is that the higher you climb on medals, the more wallbreakers/tanks you may need for taking down TC more safely. Actually, it is about finding proper balance in taking down TC and having enough raiders/soldiers to take a loot.

So at 1700-1800 medals my army went to this:

- 4 tanks
- 4 wallbreakers
- 10-11 soldiers
- raiders, no bikers yet

No tanks or 1-2 tanks army game me more unplanned losses. 1-2 cannons is very nice, but takes too much food and troop space.

So 4 tanks and 2-4 wallbreakers plus some soldiers take down TC in 99% cases. So it is the first rally. This way I have 50% army of raiders often with 1-2 wallbreakers left to take the loot I want. Usually, it is the second rally and the end of the battle.

I do not target taking 100% of loot, but faster combats, sometimes I manage to have 13-15 on one TB.

I saw some pure raiders armies with 6-8 wallbreakers or interesting mixes with more soldiers. I am going to try more soldiers next, since it may become a must in the future.

Also, I saw there are more mass tanks strategies with less wallbreakers and raiders, I think around 8-10 tanks or smth. It may be reasonable at the highest leagues when you less depend on loot at all, so winning is a must.

So what sniper army at what medals you use?

Planning to use 6 wallbreakers, 6 Musketeers, and rest raiders when my barracks get to level 7 at 1600 medals.

31 Carabineers
4 Veteran Sappers

1700+ medals too.

Basically avoid TC's behind two sets of walls or a protected TC & protected FC. 2 sappers to pop a hole. Then a few of the Fusliers dotted at the extremes to pull the defenders out of the way. Next,depending whether the bulk of the loot is near the TC, half the raiders rally on the TC or if loot in mills/markets, send most of them and if really good loot, use a protect tactic if 500k+.

Bonus items are storehouses for diamonds and a few more than 1 medal for a 2* win.

Have mercs, generals and allies as backup if didn't go quite to plan. Haven't lost a battle for a while now.

Being British a single TB can only get 5 or 6 battles in, or it's me wasting too much time "Nexting" to a better base. 3 TB sessions a day gets me all the loot I need to keep the workers/blacksmith/library working 24/7. Surplus gold into the walls, but I'm not bothered about them. At the moment 95% of attackers snipe my TC (even with 300k gold/food on offer), when I get flattened it's by tanks and zeppelins etc and it wouldn't matter how high the bloody walls were so they are a complete waste of time/gold.

I dismissed musketeers since I don't have time for long distraction tricks )))soldiers still can do it too. Have you tried HC mixes?

The last losses I had were against IA bases with exposed resources and ALL defenses around TC. Even two max walls is not an issue for 4 EA wallbreakers, but if they also defend resources with walls it is worse, but usually I have enough even from 1-2 storages and everything what's around walls ;)

And yes, integrating air into this army will be interesting too if I have it before 'rebelance' lol

Funny vid, indeed ;) it's just I don't have 15 protects per TB, so I have to use wall breakers. Actually I am not using army buffs mostly. Very rarely mercs to finish TC or sabotage to get more loot.

Whaaaa? Why you no use army buffs?? They're surprisingly effective on raiders

I am taking my 3-4m gold per two training blessings without them, so I am using buffs to take down difficult TCs or fix my miss-rally what happens rarely. My mercs/goods/tactics/generals are usually always full. So my attacking gameplay now is 4 units, rare sabotage and training blessing. Unexpectsble for IA, right? )))

How do you make sure the second pair of sappers take the inner wall?

First pair pop a hole in the outer wall, then.. drop the second pair and hope they get it right and go through the first hole? Or rally them on the TC/Inner wall, then wait 30 secs for new rally to launch the TC taker-downers?

It's rare I do back to back TBs but when I do it's about half that, so the French TB is worth 1.5-2.m gold per hour - tempted to switch, but if I do it'll be nerfed immediately :)

But other than that and the 4 HC/Tanks it sounds pretty much identical.

The only other I notice is luck of the draw going into battle, "Nexting" I get max bases with tons of loot, one after the other, then next time skinflint bases in a row. It's like I'm dumped into different multi-player threads as if leagues didn't make a difference.

The problem is that it is worth even more in higher leagues. You may add 1-2m to that if there is no event. If you manage to get 15 wins on TB with event it may be 3m gold just league reward.

But Brits can do more than 2m/hour too, but you have to go up and down on medals from 1200 to 1700. I even switched armies with brits. Mass-archers combo on my way up and raiders on my way down. On my way down it is often 2m per TB too.

Different times of day have more or less people logged on. When more people log on that means the maxed out storage players are either attacked into a peace treaty or pvping themselves and not available to be attacked

I am a currently lvl 93 EA player (almost maxed offensive), Playing France

My army is formed by:

8 heavy cavalry, 2 wall sappers, 5 footman for distraction and 20 raiders

+2300 medals actually. I think this composition works great against the bases I am facing. I raid about 12-15M gold daily

Yep, so what we see is that they overnerfed 5-star armies so badly that we are using 4 units, 2 in fact.

I think I need to reintroduce HC into my mix.

How many playing hours for 12m+ gold?
