The Soldier Rush

Army Setup: All Soldiers

Description: Short time limit, and cheap on food. The Soldier Rush is the ideal army setup for beginners, due to lack of resources and minimum amount of tactics and strategies in early gameplay. This rush can and is used by several players. Ideal army setup for players that don't have the time to play the game for long periods.

Attack Strategy: Recommended on raiding bases, with large amounts of resources, open mills and markets, wall openings, and horribly placed defensive towers. Soldiers, due to lack of hit-points, are weak alone, but in large numbers can sweep buildings in an instant. Catapults have splash damage and can wipe out a large group of soldiers, within a few hits. Garrisons produce defenders that devastate soldiers, and is highly recommended to use rally on garrisons.

I am now level 96 and I actually use 3 Supply Carts, 10 Archers, and the rest Soldiers. The Infinity rush is very strong and with 3 healers the Mortars can be delt with.

what about redoubts still ok on those?

I don't use this strat but when folks use it against me the replay logs show sabotage being used against at least one redoubt. FWIW, looking at my defense logs this strat rarely gets an attacker more than 3 stars, and usually requires rebuilding the entire army. Just sayin'.

You say the pure soldier Rush is good for players that don't have a lot of time to play the game. The thing is, with a better setup you can win with only losing a couple troops. Rebuilding the 40 soldiers that died takes up time that can be better spent raiding.

I played smth similar in very early GP when soldiers got upgraded. With or without supply carts and one explosive guy, but cavalry is so great in GP, so I switched to them. Enlightement upgrade for cavalry is kinda weak, so I hope to switch to cannons/bombards soon. Anyways, there are 5 anti-soldiers defensive buildings, plus garrisons, etc so it looks as a strategy for romans and may be japanese/germans

As i said this is an early rush mainly for low level players. I've seen many high level players use this rush, but also with mercs. and tactics.

Any suggestions on what those attacking strategies are? I'm a Roman in Classical (soon to be Medieval). I usually have time during the night but limited in the number of attacks due to the full rebuilding I have to do after each one.

Stop using pure soldier army and rebuild every time. Try mix with 3 or 4 Kinghts. Any base that has no ballista or unprotected ballista , drop some footmen and charge to kill it and let your Knight wipe everything else. Meanwhile drop footmen all around from outside to quickly kill buildings and support the tanking kinghts.

Your loss will be 10- footman, so the raiding won't stop.

Mixing in some cavalry really helps with survival rates. They can easily take out catapults and towers with no losses which leaves your foot soldiers with the ballistas and everything else.
