I am one of the players that had a cavalry centered attack strategy that can no longer use it since the update so now will be switching to bombards. Would like some suggestions on using them. What does your raiding group consist of? What do you usually use your first and second rally's on? Favorite tactics is...barrage and maybe sabotage? What buildings are your biggest threat? Feel free to add further info

The best bombard strat is cannon upgrade ;) I'd suggest playing with two and if you have a lot of archers even one can work. So the recent optimal composition for GP I see is: 1) two bombards 2) two HC 3) 15 rangers 4) optional: healer, 2-3 raiders, explosive guy 5) the rest for soldiers, not less than 15-20.

in GP i used 3 bombards. 2 supply cart, 6 cavs and 24 arquebusiers. 4 protect spells. This deals with every base type. The armor blessing is the best for this age IMO. For merc, i had 2 elephant, 1 cav, 1 hun

3 bombards; 6 HC; 1 supply cart; the rest is arquebusier; 4 tactics (sabotage and first aid). I've been recently using this form due to HC nerf as well, here is what I noticed:

- bombards are fickle, change direction easily and quite vulnerable
- biggest threats are not forest defenders, as we can deal with them by arquebusier/ fire lance; for my the biggest threats are catapults/ mortars. due to their wide shooting range and castle with generals

i'm also greek, and also recently backed off from 10 hc to 6, to make room for bombards. this was after reaching ea though, and maxing my troop space, so i can't comment on gp composition. i'm finding that they take some practice. they're not too bright, a little like infantry, and just attack the nearest building, regarless of it's value. with practice though (mostly with rallying to just the right spots each time) I think you may find you like them better then elite royal companions, even when they had 250 dps. it's a lot of fun to obliterate buildings without chewing through a wall first. rally to a location just outside of range of castle/tower/whatever, let the hc draw fire (all they're good for now), and watch stuff explode. I rely heavily on three supply wagons, to cover my mistakes. they'll outpace a mortar, one at a time. Gatling guns and musketeers are excellent support for them, as they don't stray quite as much as infantry.

I had great success with the following army in GP:

4 Bombard
1 Supply Cart
30 Arqubusers
22 Heavy Infantry

As has been mentioned garrisons are the biggest threat to this army, and the 30 ranged troops do a very good job of keeping the artillery safe. Key to this army's success is use of Rally; when the army blobs up it is a ball of death and really cannot be stopped, but troops (especially heavy infantry) tend to stray from the pack. Save your rallies for when you really need to regroup the army, and don't be afraid to backtrack to an area that has already been leveled to ensure safety before pressing the attack. Losses to infantry are acceptable, but carts or cannons should be protected at all costs due to long build times.

This army is a slow, methodical deathball and one issue you may run into is running out of time, so try to be as efficient as possible in your initial attack. Fully upgrading the Banners, Chivalry, and Ballistics trees in the Library will also significantly increase this army's effectiveness.

you have 4 bombards but only 1 supply cart? that sounds like a serious gap in your formation, since 1 cart cannot heal fast enough, especially damage from catapult/mortar. the rest I'm agree with you
