Combat Tactics is destroyed in the new update.

look at my base. lvl75 with lvl8/9 walls. if im a cheater then im terrible at it lol :) i have seen new ai behavior thats not optimal. i blow hole 2 squares down from cav and they keep going at the wall their already on. fine...ill make sure to blow a hole first. ive seen the cav ai attack wall peice when the wall actually ends 2 squares further down. ive seen cav go 90 degrees around the base when i rally because farms were in the way. as i see these behaviors i adjust and await the patch that will fix it. on flip side theres one important ai behavior that has changed which makes battles much easier which i wont go into......so ill walk back my comments that theres no issues with the AI. Just i can deal with it.

there are definitely cheaters in the game. bhg should check anyone with max walls and see how they got the resources. but its funny how try hards always yell cheater when its much simpler than that. ur not as good as u think u are. when someone is actually skilled the only way you could imagine someone playing better than your pretend skills must be by cheating. i learned that lesson long time ago. when i thought others were cheating by beating my awesomeness. then i learned how they were doing it. when that happens several times u figure out to hold your tongue shouting cheater at better players

I've spent 10 USD for starting pack lol and still have 2000+ crowns left having level higher than yours being in GP ))) Are you upgrading only walls or what? How much have you spent?

How much have you spent?...........ive spent 40, ive kept my workers busy non stop, except i always keep 1 worker available or currently i keep 2 workers free for....reasons. my offense is maxed out enlightenment minus balcksmith tactics and generals still got long way to go. my defense will be starting the enlightenment upgrades soon. if ur higher level its all on the shoulders of economy. the useless caravan, roads, farms. which upgrade real easy with 2 workers and inflate ur level but do nothing for ur actual power. yes i have put a ton of gold into the walls. but my workers have been busy so in real battle terms im sure i outpace u by quite a bit

tldr....ive upgraded the stuff that matters. ur playing beauty pageant whos got higher level look at my useless farms they so shiney

Yes, it's easier to talk than do having classic age garrisons and HC buildings lol ))) and saying that all defense is getting to enlightement.

Earlier in this topic you wrote that you don't have AI problems and later you write tons of them. You must accept the fact that you're just slow. The fact that you have more medals with better troops does not mean you're better in attacking as a player.

Everyone can have different opinions here and there is a bunch of players who like everything what developers do, but this update reduced divercity of the combat gameplay so badly. I thought that I need more time to get used to new AI, but no, it's just dumb. The more I try it, the more stupidness of AI and bugs I find. Defensive horsemen must be nerfed asap. Now, you may loose 80% of your army on 30 levels lower base if you're not using blessings which are OP too. So the game is loosing 'connected gameplay' component completely when you're forced to leave the game after each battle or pay. All old units rapidly became bad. Soldiers dumber and step on buildings. HC finds unpredictable paths and die faster, bombards are not efficient due to defensive horsemen spam. Archers still stuck. Who playtested this new combat???
You know, I read this a few days ago and thought to myself "surely he just hasn't given it enough time". i apologize for ever doubting this post. It was right. I too like to consider myself a "strategic" player, and what I like so much about Dominations is that decisions you make throughout the match greatly effect the outcome, as opposed to many coc clones where it's just "throw your whole horde out and see what happens." When it's working, the rock/paper/scissors gameplay of the aoe/ron series' really translate well here. I LOVE using a diverse army and releasing the proper units in the proper spot, at the proper time to hit their counters or get the right position. After 3 days with the patch I can't help but be drawn to the conclusion that it's just broken, at least for people in my age (88gp/73pre-xp buff gp) who put a lot of focus on the aforementioned tactical rock/paper/scissors battles. I've found like limited success with a bombard/heal cart/fire lancer combo. But it's on much lower level towns, with far fewer resources, and the long build times make it an unviable farming option anyway. Looking back I can't believe I would moan to myself about the 6 minute turnaround times after the last update (supercav nerf). I always supported the cav nerf, but it didnt make it any less likely for me to whine about a 7 minute turnaround instead of a 3. At any rate, farming, at my level at least, is now broken. I'll admit that defense did need a bit of a boost, but it didnt need so much that good play with a mixed army would still get all or most of your army wiped. Defensive cav should be dropped to 3 from 4 and perhaps dropped another tech level per stable level. And god, please fix the offensive cav ai, I would MUCH rather have the old cav ai and moronic wall killing than this mess. The whole point is, we should be able to predict their path. If we can't it's just a mindless horde of troops like every coc clone. I've been playing less and less, because farming just isn't fun anymore. Defense should be strong if a player builds a smart town, not strong regardless of the town's layout because defensive units are overwhelming. It's a common, and probably often empty, "threat" when people aren't happy with a patch, but I can't see myself playing for much longer if things don't turn around quickly. Hope Nexon/bhg addresses it as swiftly as is possible.

Thanks for your feedback, Nerdjitsu. Before this patch, I felt that better combat tactics really mattered and it was fun, I could play with 6 mins army restore usually. If I did mistakes, I had to wait longer or pay crowns and it was okay. I am also in GP, btw. I had good chances vs average enlightement too. Now, you have to be like really OP against your opponent or loose an army which could take up to 45 mins to recover. Influence of your skill is really minimal here, plus you may loose just because your HC decided not to attack the nearest catapult but run somewhere else in range of balistas. So, it might be even acceptable that they increased defense power and slowed down looting, but killing combat tactics with bugged AI and strong imbalances is what incompatible with game fun. Hopefully, they'll fix it before majority of active players quit, so they stay with cheaters only.

British gunpowder player who used to spam heavy cavalry. I noticed that they seem to have gotten worse AI. Now I just use mostly raider units in an attempt to loot as much as possible.

New update makes the game unenjoyable and unplayable. Just had my 2nd device update on me and it is horrible

Right now I'm at the end of medieval so I don't need to raid much but if they don't have some major improvements in a week or 2 I'm not suffering through it trying to advance in gunpowder age.

The new "balance" ruined the game even further... Making anything thats not a Foot Soldier useless due to damage reduction.

Tried cavalry spam on a medieval base with 15 lancers and no blessings-the nerf AND stupidity made me not even take them home.
