Confused: Kingdom, Empire, Dynasty Leagues

Maybe it's obvious but why are there no players in the top 9 leagues? Are folks intentionally avoiding them or does the game mechanic lead to a natural limit on the number of medals one can realistically keep?

Once you reach the top, every win only gets you 1 medal. Every loss results in losing 10-20 medals. Not to mention actually finding an opponent to fight is difficult in itself. The top players can't gain more medals until the rest of the players gain medals too.

So I'm in Silver II, and when matchmaking, am sometimes paired with folks in Silver III. If I drop down to SIII, I am sometimes paired with SII. Matchmaking does not appear to be limited to league. But if you are the sole player with 2000+ medals and your closest competitor has 1800 the differential there could be too great. If there's just a handful of players within a given medal range they would only ever be paired with each other, and with treaties may still have a hard time finding a match.

Ok, so about 2 days after posting this we went from months capped at 2000, to a mad rush to medal up. Now we have nearly 70 players in Kingdom III and 30 in Kingdom II. It seems longer peace treaties are the most obvious cause, but why?

Sorry for my mistakes when I write in English. I hit the Empire League III ( battle bonus 100k of gold and 100k of food ), after 18 hours without sleep and playing thousands of battles for only 1 medal. Now it is practically impossible to find opponents. Maybe Empire III is the last to be reached.

@shinji, I think they opened up the matchmaking a bit to allow players to get higher medals. That's the reason for such a surge in medals thus week. It seems harder now but I hope they will open it up again. None of the medieval players with bases getting hammered seem to be complaining so maybe they are inactive? Regardless I hope they open more bases up so the top leagues can be populated.
