CWA level 265 French playing in the 2k medal range. That's the first league where victory chest gives possibility of oil. higher leagues give more oil, but not enough to make up for less 5 star victories to collect NTGs. After I get a VC I sometimes drop a few hundred medals to farm NTGs, but I make sure to be back over 2k for the next VC.

I use 3 tanks, 3 AVs, 3 HA, 3 field mortars, 6 infantry, 2 supply trucks and the rest shooters. I would like to replace the HA with mortars, but I donate a lot and everyone always asks for howitzers. I have finished Amelia so I have 5 supersonic Mk6 fighters. I don't use any generals, blessings, donated troops or mercenaries in 80% of my attacks, but I have them in case my target has unexpected uni research. I will hit Atomic or Global bases with less than 205 medals if they have a bad layout, but generally go for 190 or less.

I suppose one thing has changed; I lose a few more troops in each battle than I used to.

Yes, rushed atomic and global is where I hunt. I've tried higher and didn't enjoy going for 2 and 3 star victories to maintain my league. I want to destroy my enemies! And I can't stay lower; everyone medal drops on me until I am back over 2k, so I might as well make that my home.

what i'd like to see is every piece in the game being useful.
i'm not sure if we're more there than before the rebalance.

i'm still critically evaluating, but it doesn't seem as catastrophic as the consensus suggests.

I just start playing, so it's hard to say for me. But I know one thing from my gamer experience - that's great when developers add new updates and content, if they don't - a game is dying.
