v5.5.X ‘DomiNations 2 Year Anniversary’ update is here!


Marco Polo, the Traveling Merchant
  • Marco Polo now periodically visits your town to offer his wares!
  • Trade with him for Troop Tactics, Event Buildings, National Trade Goods, and more!
Friendly Challenges (Not yet activated!)
  • Challenge your Alliance members in practice battles to hone your strategy
  • Create your own Challenges to test out new Town and War Base layouts
  • Friendly Challenges don’t consume troops, medals, or resources!
New University Leader: Amelia Earhart
  • Research Amelia Earhart’s skill tree at the University to bolster your air force and oil economy!
  • Harness the power of her Capstone Skill, The Ninety Nines, which gives you +1 additional air capacity
New World War Tie-Breaker
  • If two Alliances finish a World War with the same number of stars and average destruction, the winner is now determined by who has the least amount of time elapsed in battle
  • In ties, winning your battles as fast as possible is the key to winning the war!
  • Only the time elapsed from the best attack against each War Base counts
New Atomic Age Upgrades
  • Farms and Caravans can now be upgraded to level 18
  • Oil Wells can now be upgraded to level 6
  • The University can now be upgraded to level 6
  • Fighters and Bombers can now be upgraded to level 18
  • Transports can now be upgraded to level 12
Other Improvements
  • A new ‘Recommended Upgrades’ button has been added next to the Store button to provide advice on what to upgrade next
  • A Quick Victory star timer has been added to the battle HUD for easier tracking in battle
  • Improve your strategic planning with more information on the World War Scouting screen
  • The Announcements window now has tabs so you don’t miss out on discounts, sales, events, and updates!
Performance Improvements
  • Improved performance and stability on older devices
  • Fixed a handful of rare crashes
Balance Updates
  • Betrayal, Protect, and Sabotage Tactics now cost 2 Tactics Capacity (was 1)
  • War Academy level 5 (Enlightenment Age) now provides +1 Tactics Capacity (was +0), increasing Tactics Capacity by 1 from Enlightenment Age onward
  • Stronghold now spawns the any remaining donated Troop Tactics when destroyed
  • Fixed Atomic Age HP for French Consulate, Khan Dais, Zulu Kraal, and Long House (was 1600, is now 1950)
Bug Fixes and Improvements
  • Prevented a crash when dropping Troop Tactics in battle
  • Fixed a crash on the battle results window
  • Prevented a rare crash when going into World War battles
  • Fixed a crash caused by claiming a tactic without a War Academy
  • Game no longer crashes when tapping on the Aztec Temple
  • Fixed a disconnect caused when players sped up University research
  • Fixed an issue where adding or removing Troop Tactics from the Stronghold could cause them to be lost or duplicated
  • Troop Tactics are now included in the World War battle prep window
  • Stronghold properly updates with when new Troop Tactics are added
  • Same Troop Tactics with different levels will now appear sorted alphabetically
  • Fixed an issue causing too many donated troops to spawn in World War battles
  • Offensive Blessings now show up in Attack History even if only Troop Tactics were used on offense
  • Coalitions more reliably appear in the World War map
  • Fixed an issue where the wrong image could appear in the Announcements window
  • Fixed bonus Trade Goods not appearing on the battle results screen
  • Sneaky units like Commandos no longer trigger the S.A.M. Battery trap
  • Prevented an exploit allowing buildings to be stacked on top of each other
  • Players can now view Active Troops in Factory and Airstrip info windows
  • Players can now access friends’ Alliances through Alliance Friends tab
  • World War now displays total attack duration in place of average attack duration
  • Added attacks used and battles won to World War banner in World War report window for Battle, Alliance, and Enemy tabs
  • Clarified message when claiming a Troop Tactic reward from an event
  • Added "please wait" message when claiming Expedition rewards
  • Improved messaging for “Finish Now” or “Instant” finishing University research
  • Tower Blessing now correctly indicates that it buffs the Stronghold
  • Teutonic Fury buff effects now appear in World War battles
  • Added clarification text to Blessing descriptions: (An attack must deal 10% or more damage to your town to consume this Blessing)
  • Event building info windows now display correct stats in Bronze and Iron Ages
  • Offensive blessing info windows in Attack History now show applied buffs
  • Stradioti UI portrait no longer displays Hussar image
  • Security improvements
  • Minor art and text fixes

Lol... thought it soinded too good to be true... the comments are valid anyway. It's a silly idea. And will just frustrate people. I jave Medieval age Demolitions and Barrage, so I look forward to contacting customer support and getting these 2 tactics upgraded to the Global Age level of Sabotage, Protect and Beteayal which I worked hard for and are now cant really use as intended... One of these days I will find a better game, I have been looking for a while recently, I will strike gold before long. ;-)

Well, they took away our sabotage. This is their solution to deal with that. Isn't nexon so good at coming up with solutions?

Again, nexom ignoring 95% of it's players to cater to the ones who dump a ton of money into a stupid war game. The whales must have threatened to stop buying special troops if they keep getting sabotaged Strongholds. What's next, the castle and tc will still spawn when destroyed? ? This has definitely become the biggest pay to win game around. It is now a pay to even have a chance to compete. This is why we changed our wars to once a week.

I thought of why Nexon might have changed the tactics! I am sure all my fellow players have been attacked in mp by those misdirected attackers using heal and barrage. Nexon probably wanted to give them a chance!

What Nexon fails to realize is that those players are just not very good at the game. They aren't the type of players to spend the time or effort to figure out how to optimize an attack (no offense to them- sometimes they just haven't found a good alliance to help them). Here is the thing: weakening everyone else will NOT suddenly make them good attackers. Instead you will frustrate your players who have spent a bunch of time figuring out what strategies and tactics work.

Tactics and the space they take up are at the core of the game ad players have developed with the trust these would remain fairly constant. It doesn't really make me feel comfortable spending my time in investing more into my accounts knowing that Nexon could suddenly make siege units take up 18 units in the future or that archer towers can no longer shoot at planes or that mortars can no longer kill brits... :D

Nexon, here is some advice: if you want dedicated players, you need to listen to them. Changing something even when there is HUGE outcry from your most active players does not build their trust or a great relationship. They will dump you.

Also, as a leader, I can speak to this: you make it harder and harder to cover for you (and your ineptness at developing the game) and keep morale up and continue playing. This update seems like a big :( . Thank you. I am glad you've been listening.

and also i do not see any fix, where near max AA players are ranked in a middle of all industrial players!! did they just forgot about that???

I actually had a stinging comment to make to Nexon but really, what's the point? Nexon has made some seriously questionable changes in this update, and to rub salt in the wounds, have disregarded many negative comments to include the changes anyway.
I can understand they want to make money but we just want to have a fun game to play.
I won't do anything so drastic as 'quit' but I have been a regular payer of the small amount items, as I felt it was a fair thing to do for this game. Oh well, so much for being fair.

Wow, so exactly the same I guessed before. You guys never listen to the community and proceed the changes on tactics nerf.
I also notice that the stronghold already spawning remaining troops even it is destroyed these few days and now you just come out with that.
This is the worst so called "balance" ever.

But as always I am looking forward to see how you will fxxk up the game in the next update.

i thought the same.. soon all game will become a one big huge bug. lol. there is hope somewhere.. just very, very deep in the shadows..

Good call. No more WW for me + no more attacks on challenging bases with proper army. I will reaaaaaally enjoy attacking dormant lower age and undeveloped bases for resources and medal count optimization and the rest will be raiders and wall miners. Great way to turn a strategic game with "tactics" into a chore.

Is it intentional that the patch notes for this update is in the "Bugs and Known Issues" section? :p :D
Is it an acknowledgement that this upcoming update is a bug or a known issue which will be fixed soon? ;)

Nb4powerup already saved himself the trouble of having to move this topic to this section when the update again brings nothing but buggy crap.

And seriously...why in heaven's name is that Stronghold change being implemented? Not a single building except the UN Wonder spawns it's units when it's destroyed. Not the Castle, not your City Center, not the Command Post.
Why should the Stronghold be any different?
...Ow yeah, because it is the only building that you can supply with payed troops.

In all fairness, that IS a valid reason, like it or not. Nobody wants to pay euros/dollars for a few troop cards just to have them not spawn and just vanish. Given the fact that troop cards and the stronghold exist as they do, this is a logical change.

As much as some players won't like it i would have to agree.
I've donated troop cards in some wars and you do wonder if they actually get used.

Now if only we could have a fix to matchmaking/sandbagging and not a mythical fix that lives in the world of unicorns and 3 headed snakes I would welcome all the changes.
