I noticed this a while ago, but wanted to confirm it. The first fighter deployed is the one, out of previously deployed fighters, with the most health. This is important if you want your fighters to survive from one battle to the next. Here is an example.

You send in 3 fighters, and the first one gets hit by a SAM and takes 80% damage. the other 2 take 10% damage. If you send one fighter in again, it will be one the fighters with 10% damage. If you send in 2, it will be the 2 with 10% damage. If you send in 3, it will be the 3 that have been previously deployed. Your 4th fighter will not be deployed unless you have 4 in the air at the same time. Or 3 if one of the others is destroyed.

So how should you use your fighters given the above? If you decide to use planes at all, you should send in all 4 at the beginning. Watch their health as they return, and then only send in as many as have good remaining health. At the end of the battle, when all the buildings that can damage planes are gone, you can use the heavily damaged fighters again for clean up.

Yes, I actually dislike the system. Your almost destroyed fighter that has been previously deployed will be sent out BEFORE the undeployed 100% health fighter. Deploying all 4 fighters in the beginning, however, is not always the smartest move. Sometimes you realize you will lose your units half way into the battle, it's nice the save 500-1000 oil from the 2 undeployed fighters in that case. Other times the game crashes randomly (especially on iOS), causing you to lose all your troops (because to this date Nexon refuses to admit that there are bugs in their game and any crash must be a result of something the player did). In cases like those, you'll be glad you only deployed half of your planes.

Deploying planes in single runs will result in more damage per plane if there are multiple towers around. The way to help your planes survive is to deploy all planes at multiple targets. So instead of many towers all shooting at 1 or 2 planes, many towers are shooting at many planes. Each plane will only take a small amount of damage instead of 1 or 2 taking the brunt of the damage.
This technique works best when used in combination with the rest of your troops. Your troops can make the killing blows to the towers then the planes can attack another target on their 2nd strafe.
The only times I send my planes ahead of my troops is to take out upgraded Mortars or sniper towers.

This is absolutely correct. Also, if you target 4 buildings that shoot at planes, you will suppress them, further reducing the damage.

The other important skill to learn is knowing where your fighters will come from. It is the edge closest to the target. I try to gauge where the center of the map is while I am reviewing, and then attack buildings near the edge so my fighters don't fly over the whole base.

I don't think you understand what it's like to have the game crash every 4-6 battles. It definitely is a reason for not deploying all your planes at once to minimize risk. Your strategy makes sense, and I used to use it myself all the time, but only when the risk of crashing is very low. I agree that the strength of fighter planes is their ability to suppress buildings rather than the damage they do. But the fact that you're dismissive about crashes implies that you don't understand the reality that many of us now have to deal with after the last couple updates.

melheor , are you implying that, of all the people playing the game, I don't know what it's like having the game crash? If only that were true.
I'm simply saying that I attack with all the troops at my disposal. If I need planes, I use planes. If I need mercs, I use mercs. If I need cards, I use cards. If the game crashes, it crashes. And I get crowns! :)

One way to combat the towers in the centre of a base is to have the SoL, lvl 4 airstrip, full Uni & Armory plane upgrades and Amelia's capstone.
You should try it, it's worth it! :D

Manifesto, that's what I working towards, but Amelia is a thirsty girl! Something like 5 million oil to get her capstone. I have everything else though :)

I used up the crowns from my last big crown purchase early this year, best money I ever spent! :D
