Great event! Too bad the TC update is NOT instant for me...

i contacted customer support and got nothing other than a generic reply “forwarded for investigation”

in in the meantime I have no workers and no guarantee of getting a refund if I cancel the update.

Is this the issue? instant TC from GP to EA starts 7/15 during the start of the EA part of the event

well the thing is the in game announcement says: discount for the TC and instant update

i click “see more” and it the first option of discount is the TC

I click the TC and indeed it is cheaper: 2,080,000.00 gold - before it was 3,200,000.00 the normal price

so you mean to tell me that the TC is cheaper but the instant update is only a week after? What’s up with that?

and even if it’s the case it clearly is misleading given the in game announcement.

That TC upgrade only being instant the second week is really dumb, if true. It also means the in game announcement is a lie, as it says it will be instant during the entire rush. At the very least, they need to make it be true - you can't expect every player to come to the forums to find out the in game announcement is wrong.
That change would also make it much harder to get value out of the rush, as before you could rush at the beginning of the first week, upgrade your armory at full price, and then be ready to start researching new units during the actual sale. Not a good change.

Not defending the game here but i think the discounted GP TC and instant TC are for the GP TC not the EA town center that is dicounted and instant starting on 7/15. Looking at your screenshot it looks like you already are GP and want to move to EA right? In that case you want the instant EA TC that isnt yet avaliable. If all that is correct then I agree it is not explained in-game and only poorly described here in the forums.

It's instant in Enlightenment Age rush. Because you are already in Gunpowder Age, what you are viewing is the normal discount for ALL buildings for your age, which is 30% cheaper.
The first line of the announcement means, ''instant advancement of Town Center to Gunpowder Age -- from Medieval Age''
If you want that instant upgrade to Enlightenment Age, wait until next week
