A lot of players agree that combats become kinda dull. Even though it's alot about raiders now, I think the problem is deeper. It's about easy sniping related to CoC balance with added rally.
If let's say I can't use raiders at all, I'd climb up higher on medals and snipe with tanks to get a bigger league bonus. All the same.
So, the sniping may be 2-3 times more efficient than 5-starring on loot/medals, etc. this is the main problem.
How to fix it without nerfs?
First, thing I see is that 5-starring players are getting punished by longer combats on timed training blessing. Should we have 'charges' to blessings? E.g. 10 fast army builds without time limitations? Or combat time should be excluded from TB timer? If we have 'charges' to blessings it'd be fun allowing better balance of many of them and making new ones.
Another point is reward. You may have 2-3 sniping combats instead of 1 5-star combat usually. At higher leagues, it may bring you extra 200-300k of gold for sniping just in league bonus. Guaranteed crystal is too small to compensate all of the 5-starring efforts and lost gold. So may be league reward should be related to 4-5 star somehow? So it is more babalnced. Reward for 5th star at higher leagues should be huge and attractive.
If factory is out of TB and still takes troops space, cooking times must be significantly revised and made less or those units may need further buff, so they may come back.
At other hand tactics could be limited per combat, so we have more fairplay, but it is secondary in comparison what's written above.
