Immortal war elephants

My group keeps getting matched with guys that have 4 sets of war elephants in their stronghold. Problem is they are almost immortal. It takes 10 mk6 fighter attacks and ground troop attacks to kill them. My war elephants only have around 15,000 hp. So is this cheating? Infinate elephants. 4 sets for 20 bases. That's 80 donations. Plus they seem to be immune to planes.

It could be a cheat or a hack, but it's most likely just a replay error or perhaps your wi-fi connection? Yes, elephant archers whether purchased, earned or hacked are a bane on a game that uses ''balance'' as an excuse to justify so many dubious decisions, but they probably make the company more money than anything else at this point. So good luck getting any sort of official response.

Are these groups Russian/Ukranian by chance? Regardless, my guess is these folks have managed to stockpile a near limitless supply of level 8 elephant archers by whatever means. 15,000+ hp is a lot since they don't receive the damage multiplier that tanks do for....... reasons?

Ah. Well there's the problem, then... Elephants should be a tank sub-class.

It was not a replay error I fought them live. Elephants used to count as defenders for the airplane multiplier. I've played for 3 years and remember killing them with one strike

While the easiest way to eliminate Elephant infestation is to decoy and plane them, in the case of these cheater alliances with “immortal elephants” I take a different tactic... literally. When we face these elephant alliances I bring a betrayal or two to make them my pets. It always makes me smile to see the red elephants turn to blue elephants and help me tear though the base. I have my betrayals upgraded to maximum so the penalty for taking them is minimal. And I have the extra research to enhance the tactic as well. Make sure you take them when they are clear of atgs and also other things that may be accompanying them in the SH. I use my iPad pencil for accuracy but you can zoom in and get the same result if you don’t have one. I believe having Aztecs active also enhances the damage and health of your new pets as technically they are Mercs so be sure to do that too.

That's inspired! It's so obvious when you're in a WW vs an alliance that has every base stacked with elephant archers, because they'll come out during all of the replays. So there's no excuse not to copy Gail's tactic. Brilliant. Potentially a total battle changer. And sweet revenge with a cherry on top for when you're fighting an alliance with many deep credit cards (or even deeper cheat codes). Gonna try this next war...

Gail, you sure that 'betrayal' units count as mercs, for bonuses, etc...?

What's that supposed to mean, Russian or Ukrainian? 😂
Why not Korean?

Lol I figured you were joking. It's just become such a common response I respond as if everyone is serious.

That's what a guy in my group started doing last war. It works just hard to lose the decoys. Of course immortal elephants are probably better.

GailWho That can work reasonably well. But the cost of losing 2 decoy space per betrayal seems high.

I still don't understand the whole immortal elephants thing. Is this just the fact that elephants are notoriously hard to kill (high hp, but not tanks for aircraft damage bonuses), or that you are encountering alliances cheating with god mode coalitions and all their elephants are super boosted by Maori? Or just that normal Maori on top of regular elephants is massively powerful?

If it is because of Maori (whether super boosted or not), would that boost carry over when you betray it? At that point would your coalitions apply to it, or are the stats fixed based on it being a defensive unit when spawned, and then you get those minus the betrayal penalty?

I know no one here will have definitive answers, I wouldn't trust CS's answer if they gave one. But what is your experience there?

I agree that betrayal is a waste of tactic space. I prefer to use SOTG to take out the elephants, but it takes good timing. Maori-boosted elephants are basically invincible to planes, that's what makes them such a pain to deal with.

fighters help taking down EA hp by 30-40% per run of 5 fighters but by no means kill them cuz they don't take extra damage
the only way to kill EA is to use EA too, using other troop tactics can work too but highly risk to fail
put 2-3 decoys around them while using SOG on ur EA that should take care of them

needless to say adding silo to the game extremely overpowered defenders EA cuz the main way to take them down was heavy tanks from mercenary camp in front of ur army line up but that's no more possible cuz ur risking getting ur army hit by silo's if they mix with heavy tanks

I remember taking down 4 EA cards in SH by my mercenary HT without the need of any help from troop cards but sadly if u force ur heavy tanks alone to SH they will probably die before reaching it, for this strategy to success they must have protection from shooters and howitzers in rear lines which is impossible to do as i stated above

Ulysses Thanks! i’m Glad I could help. I’m not completely sure about the elephants counting as mercs. I don’t think there’s any way of knowing for sure.

I think once they are mine then my coalitions and buffs would apply. But I’m just guessing
