Here is my layout which I've been using for about a month. currently have +430% road connections. Thinking about moving town center away from the inside-walls, since medals don't help me at all, but i think keeping it defended helps to keep away some attacker from my base. Tell me what you think :)

One major bug!! Redoubt range is 7. even when i place them instead of near by mortars, they do not attack the enemies who are attacking the wall just 4-5 squares away to the south-west side.. :(

EddieF1, I formulated my entire base around your comment. Out of everything I read, it made the most sense. I raid like a mad person. Lol

I just come back to the game after all most a year absent. i still have the old thinking so im not sure if it's still relevant now. Here is my base. I didn't care to swap out the ballista tower because I'm lazy and dont have a lot of resource for people to attack me. I'm protecting the command post because i had some resource in there, it's empty now so im gonna swap with a tower or some sort

Right so... I'm almost maxed out medieval age, still don't have the extra garrison though. Anyways, feedback would be much appreciated. (resources could be switched depending on which one you're trying to protect more)

Having your castle right at the edge of the map like that allows attackers to take it out quickly before your general can spawn on defense. Not recommended unless you are deliberately using it as bait to lure attackers onto a big pile of traps.

You are really putting all your eggs in one basket by putting all your mills and markets in the same compartment. I would suggest breaking up the central compartment and dividing your storage buildings among multiple compartments. As it is, if an attacker can get at your one compartment they can clean you out in no time.

My farming base. Need feedback.

I'm assuming that protecting resources is your priority. Comments are based on that assumption.
  • Your oil refinery needs better protection. Placing it at the edge of your layout makes it very vulnerable.
  • I don't see enough exit routes for the defenders produced from the unit production buildings (garrisons, stable, command post) inside walls. Provide exit routes using gates for your defenders. In fact, command post can be placed outside the walls.
  • Please see if you can design a layout where the defensive buildings at the north (near your town center) can be better integrated with your core resource protection section (walled sections). Right now, most of your defenses in the north won't get triggered when you're attacked at the south near the dock. When you're attacked for resources in the south, your chances of getting a peace treaty are slim because your town center is isolated from the rest of your resources. At lower medal ranges, where you will be attacked for your resources, it's a good idea to place the town center in the way of your attackers stealing your resources, so as to increase your chances of getting a peace treaty.

what do you think ? I'm in the Enlightenment , as evolves almost all the research and the generals are already in need of oil to evolve. I want to finish evolving all defenses and leave for industrial , do you think will survive well with this base in the industrial ? What should I evolve first when entering the industrial age ? I do not care much for my farms and caravans , but they are also almost all at most of the Enlightenment .

You can move to Industrial Age if all of your offensive capabilities have been upgraded.
Among the defenses, max out the stables and cannon towers in Enlightenment Age.
Upon reaching Industrial Age, upgrade your Armory, barracks, followed by troop upgrades for your most used troops.
Upgrade your oil refinery, and get the first level air strip early, because it'll improve your offensive capability.
Among the troops, heavy cavalry gets the best jump through the upgrade to tank.
Among defenses, prioritize cannon towers and stables. They get upgraded to anti-tank guns and tank depots respectively, and give a good boost to your defense.
Farms and caravans can wait. General upgrades can wait too.
We can help you better with base design feedback, if you can try and post a single screenshot of the base, covering the most important core of the base,even if it doesn't cover the entire base. Placement of towers is key to defending against attacks by players in Industrial and Global Age, so, towers with their ranges overlapping with each other, or, one starting where another tower's range ends is vital.
