Library - Which tree path is ideal for end game

I've been looking for a while now and haven't found anything on the best tech tree to research at the library. I'm assuming the defense or offense (last two) options are the best during end game where the other two trees seem to aid your economy more. I am only in the Classical age at the moment, so I am not sure what the best strategy's are for later on. What is the best current tree path for end game? If you are there, what would wish you changed? I've a'ready picked up the Acropolis and Colosseum so I am on the defensive path it looks like, but just not sure if I should keep it mixed or go all offense or all defense.

This is what I would go assuming going full defense is viable end game:

Reinforcements-Machinery-Ramparts-Fortification-Partisans-Citadels-Nationalism

Why on earth would you chose a path? Just upgrade whatever you like. Some are useless (mainly in the economy path) but most are improving your nation

Yea, library ends very fast, so no need to bother. Just keep it busy and spend resources

Yes upgrade what you need. The library is the first thing to finish. The balance between the armoury and the library might need some work as library is idle after finishing everything and the armoury has a lot left. With the units, tactics, generals, factory units and airfield units the queue isnt balanced at all. Maybe there should be a technology to unlock the ability to research 2 things at once in the armoury.

It would be great to have nation-specific researches actually. For food please. E.g. British could research less troop space for tanks, romans could have army building speed up, etc

Are you telling me you can upgrade everything in the library? As in you can choose all the trees?

yap, you can upgrade everything you want in library bro. No need to worry about the tree

Hmmm, the best path for end game would have to be EVERY SINGLE ONE choosing a certain book to research doesn't negate the others. I'm in GP and have my library maxed on everything. Always always always have your library & blacksmith researching something. Always.

Casual players won't really finish the library that easily, I think. I have been quite devoted the last 5 weeks, am now at the end of Medieval, and still quite a few library projects left. But surely when reaching the "end game" one will have finished them.
