The nations with the best bonuses seem to have the most useless troops, so weight whether you use the troop as well. While French doesn't have a great bonus for war, at least the troop is useful, while the opposite is true for Romans and Germans.

Not Greece. Anything but Greece.
Disagree heavily. Greek is great early in game. Gets your bui,do done SOOOO much faster, saves resources. I love it. Now that wars are going on and I'm almost to MA, Imy gonna shift to German tho.

Nah don't switch to German. Since you love Greece so much I recommend you stick with them for the long haul and then come back here after you reach Industrial Age :)

I haven't tried other nations still, but I'm absolutely loving Germans.

I started another account on my PC yesterday and really miss the rally of my EA German troops. I'm still Bronze Age and think I might go with the Koreans just for the extra tactic.

What do you use to play on a PC? If I were to try another nation, it would either French or Romans.. maybe Koreans too but I'm not entirely sold on the whole extra tactic thing.

Bluestacks. It seems to work pretty well. I went with the Chinese.

Just two technical questions for the Germans:
1) does the 15% buff apply to the troops returning from a victorious battle or win is enough (although no troops did survive) to get the 15% damage buff for the next army to be trained?
2) if only surviving troops get the damage boost, does a victory in Campaign count as well? (I.e. if you deploy your whole army on Fertile Crescent and get the win with all troops coming back)

The 15% buff (after a multiplayer win) applies to your next army going into battle - regardless whether it's a multiplayer or campaign battle. (although I read somewhere the buff does not apply to HC or air units)
However, a campaign battle - win or lose - will not affect your existing buff. Also, winning a campaign battle - when you didn't have a buff - will not give you the buff.
And crying about it won't change a thing! (trust me - I know!)

What about war? The buff from multiplayer will affect war battles?

I'm playing French, and i can say they truly don't have any destructive troop for wars/attacks
But their major advantage is that you can get rich real fast, even faster than nations with resources bonus or whatsoever . I stick to Copper I or Silver III, there i can find many players with uncollected Caravans, Farms which gives lots and lots of resources ( if we play smart, of course ) . Just drop some Ranged Calvary, spearmen, archers and i have got bunch of Resources . And the training time is really fast . You don't have to be online for like 24/24 . Just play regularly when you have free time .
For other countries, i'm not sure . But according to some of my friends, if you go to war. take Koreans , Their bonus Tactic can save many of your troops . Romans, despite having more troops, but if you can't save them, then they will still be useless .
Oh and i think Japan really sucks at war at later ages, since their defense will get slightly weaker and weaker as they advance .

Brits are good if you are very active. The archers are the biggest perk though, and used correctly are very powerful.
That's the thing, can they be used "correctly" with mortars and redoubts, which will require some solid distractions to keep fire away from the archers? I think the biggest plus is that apparently British archers have a better range than cannon towers, so those can be taken out without sustaining damage. Of course the 15% loot bonus is not to be sniffed at either.

France is good for obvious reasons, churning out troops faster than everyone else (and amazingly quickly with the training blessing), and the unique heavy cavalry/tank unit is a decent perk too.

Germany seems really good for those focused on strategy during battles. Double the rally (so your troops can rush at high speed for twice as long - especially useful if there's a wall in the way), and faster cooldown on rallies means you get more control during battles. Not sure how useful the +20% damage Vandal is, but the +15% damage bonus after every winning battle is huge as it's across all your units. Does anyone know whether it also applies to factory units or planes?

I'm currently still advancing to Gunpowder, but CS confirmed that the buff is applied across all your units, factory and planes included.

Japanese are not useless. They are by far the easiest nation to loot with. Spam Samurai and win. Though you'll need better tactics in war, but as a Japanese player that was going to revolt... Nah, Japanese is great when it comes to looting.

How exactly are they the easiest nation to loot with?
