Major dilemma over which nation to pick, need some guidance

What do you think about Vandals?

I hate it when they steal my stuff.

As for the Dominations Vandals, like all foot soldiers they die too quickly in EA & IA - however they're great for sniping or massed attacks in earlier ages - and as someone already said, they're cheap.

What's wrong with Germans being a F2P player? Not a good choice?

Germany is fine if you plan to just play casually. If you decide to competitively chase medals then you'll regret not choosing the French since you'll be waiting much longer to reproduce your army as a F2P player. Germans are good for World War but it's an insignificant portion of the game encompassing two attacks over two days. The majority of your time playing will be battling for resources in regular multiplayer.

That said if you play casually, Germans are more fun to use but if your trying to maximize loot efficiency and your medal rate then French will benefit you in the long run.

French is the best for F2P because training is faster especially on Training blessing (2.4X faster than all nation) so you won't spend much crowns on training armies. German is my personal favorite anyway.

I'm a casual player at best, I don't really intend to climb to the very top of leaderboards. I just wanna have fun.

That said, I'm thinking about getting the starter pack (extra house + 1200 crowns) so I have a better possibility to switch nations in the future.

Yeah, I really like the 15%. I feel like French don't really bring anything to war/attacks. I'll probably get the starter pack, so if I find myself needing the faster training later, maybe I'll consider switching.

FYI don't assume that you get an extra house through that offer. That same house is unlocked in the Industrial Age. Buying the starter pack just lets you access it earlier.

Versailles over AW - Especially after the nerf of AW. (I preferred AW in the past and i used to lose less on defense when i had AW) Of course Taj mahal and temple of tikal are relatively useless.

Forbidden City and Colosseum depends on your personal preferences. I switched to FC because of WW and i'm doing great without the strength of the gladiator. I still love colosseum equally. Of course Terra cotta and notre Dam are less useful.

Brandenburg Gate and statue of liberty depends on your personal preferences. I guess if you're planning to use heavy tanks or/and machine guns frequently.. 20% from gate and 15% from nation is gonna be great.
Still testing the statue of liberty. Air boost for zeppelin seems powerful but not sure yet if useful that much. Air boost for biplane is useful and powerful.
Kremlin is nice, but i think germans is all about offence and field domination. And of course Eiffel tower is useless, not just relatively.

Hmm, I was leaning towards the Notre Dame, actually. I just can't decide between the three. I like the Colosseum and the Notre Dame equally, many swear by the FC but I'm not really feeling it. It's very hard to pick one, they're all pretty nice.

If you don't like FC then colosseum is for you. Notre dame is helpful but it's an economical wonder, resources are not a problem the more you climb the ladder.
German is an offensive nation, if you don't want FC then stick with the offensive wonder which is colosseum.

Just wondering...when do resources not become a problem? I am mid EA and have trouble saving the 4.5-5m for upgrades. It would be nice for people to snipe my TC more instead of leveling my base for resources

I'm still successfully using them in EA. My force is usually 50 junkers, 34 musketeers, 2 supply cart, 2 cannon, and a wall breaker. I always have an armor blessing and protection tactic on them. They can really chew through things and I rarely need the wall breaker.
