Missile Silo not firing?

It seems sometimes my missile silo is on strike.
I got attacked in MP. Enemy deployed 6 Hellenic tanks (HP 24K each) and one fighter in the first second of the game.
It took 19 seconds for the silo to activate. Nineteen.
In the meanwhile, the 6 tanks had broken into my city.
At that point, shouldn’t the silo fire every 10 seconds? Not my silo apparently.
The enemy rallied his tanks against the silo and 26 seconds later (45 seconds into the game) the tanks destroyed the silo. Not one missile was fired. The enemy didn’t use any sabotage on the silo.

I’ve noticed similar behaviors in other MP / WW battles.

Can anybody explain what’s going on? Thanks.

I just had an attack where there was an unusually long gap between missles, then two fired close together (much less than 10s) so the avg was probably 10 but the exact gap wasnt. Dont have enough experience to know if this is a new behaviour

I’ve been noticing the silo has been silent in most of my MP attacks. It’s a good time to finish my silos achievement I guess.

6 tanks and a fighter is not enough to trigger the silo

slow to fire + quick second fire is due to the first one being slowed by a fighter supression

Yup the threat level wasn't high enough. I can deploy 5 mk5 HTs and a silo will activate but not fire. Adding anything more..even a single infantry will cause it to begin firing.

Something weird happened with my silo yesterday. I was attacked by raiders in small groups of 6-7 at a time. Once each group was destroyed, the player deployed the next group and rallied, and so on. The first 3 groups did nothing to my silo but my missile only activated when the 4th group was deployed. 6 or 7 raiders is not enough to activate the silo but by this time I had plenty of defenders on the battlefield. I guess the silo counts all the HP on the battlefield, including my own defenders?
I never noticed this before but it's a weird coding if the silo counts my own troops HP. Anyone else experience this?

pckrn , even the dead ones who were no longer on screen, and therefore no longer a threat? That's ridiculous!
Just when I thought this game couldn't get any crazier.

Why, what’s the rule here? I thought the silo was activated by the total enemy HP deployed on the battlefield. 6 Hellenic tanks were more than 144K HP.

And, once activated, why my silo didn’t even fire one missile?

when it fires, it aims at high HP cluster. but activating it is different. it depends more on pop cost of units. and there are two stages of activation. from what people have said in this topic, i imagine at 60 pop deployed it arms, and at 121 pop it fires
