New Defensive Building - Ability to call in air support

As the title says, having a building that can call in air support would give a significant buff to the defensive facet of the game while also shaking up the current meta. Similar to artillery on defense, air support could wipe out an archer spam army if not delt with quickly either through targeting or sabotage.

My idea is to have them fly from the edges of the map after a fair delay where the base is calling for backup, their primary target to be the attacking aircraft to introduce a dogfighting mechanic to the game where if the defence wins it will then target ground troops. Perhaps to balance this the defensive planes would not have the attack multiplier but rather a slowing effect that is essentially a harsh penalty ensure a non complete victory. A balance in favor of attackers could also be to increase the aircraft limit.

I feel that this will bring the significance of air superiority to the forefront of battles with how the game is progressing into the modern age.

David Pasquinel I like that idea as well, just wasn't sure if that would realistically get implemented since it's the bunker and not the factory that spawns heavy tanks. Plus it's an extra point of crown income for nexon to have a new building haha.

Although I am almost sure that some kind of plane garrison building will appear in the game sooner or later but your idea in the current status of the game will make the defense system overpower. Now you can take just 3 planes in IA (4 in GA) and these planes are hit by towers and air defenses, now consider another airplane is added to the party! Also none of ground unit can shoot to air planes and so the attacking troops are defenseless against your proposed planes.
Now the offense and defense are almost balanced; for example if you have a fully upgraded IA army you can’t easily roll over a fully upgraded IA base defense. Your idea will be a considerable buff in defense system.
Also the current mechanism of planes is fully offensive, they work in an interactive way and you select the target for them but using them in defense needs a totally different programming.
We all like to see planes which are defending our base but it needs many things to be done before bringing the planes to defense. For example a buff in air units and adding a ground unit that can drop the planes. Beside all of these I am waiting to see ground to air missiles (SAM Turret) in the next coming age.

Yup I completely agree with you but I don't think these changes are bad, buffing defense was exactly what I was suggesting since in my opinion it would make the gameplay more interesting if offense was less guaranteed to be able to succeed since I think that offense is somewhat stronger than offense. I also proposed this with the idea that would make an industrial base a tougher target for a global army.

As for the ground troops; I proposed different mechanics for the defensive planes against then as a bit of a punishment for failing to counter them with sabotage/demolition/or offensive planes. Donated artillery can already cheese kill an entire army given its capacity for destruction despite it not typically having that behaviour, I felt that a penalty of low damage and slowing would be quite appropriate in comparison.

Great idea ! Also , how about adding a new troop called stinger solider to counter the planes .

That would be pretty awesome, not sure if WW2 had those sort of rockets but atomic age for sure.

I think I would prefer dedicated S2A missile towers with a better pinpoint accuracy than the flak guns - instead of ground troops with stingers or such - but great suggestion.

I was thinking for the modern age to have a garrison to have drone strikes but the timer be fair. 45 second timer to do it again if they haven't taken it out
